**The Role:**

**Qualifications:**
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 5 years experience, with at least 2 years experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
- Previous experience as a Business Development Specialist in a related industry.
- Proficiency in integrated business management and CRM software.
- Advanced knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, and brand expansion.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP): This certification is valuable for engineers who wish to move into project management roles.
- Certified Mechanical Engineer (CCE): Recognizes Mechanical Engineers who have engaged in professional development.

Talon is seeking a qualified Mechanical Piping Superintendent that has a minimum of 10 years’ experience in welded fuel piping systems installation and maintenance. This includes commercial fuels, jet fuel, bulk oil, and terminal work; this includes both above ground and underground installations. Candidates must be able to manage, coordinate, and control all aspects of work sites including safety, crewmembers, equipment, inspections, and work schedules. Ideal candidate will have experience installing up to 16” diameter piping- in excavated and above ground conditions.  This job requires travel.

Responsibilities / Skills include:  

  • Proficiency in layout / grade; maintain quality standards per contract documents
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to document daily work activity, knowledge of jobsite safety (OSHA and EM385)
  • Competency in excavation, welding, lifting, quality control duties, and the proper commissioning of fuel systems.
  • Capable of identifying existing and potential hazards related to safety or environmental concerns, be able to apply company procedures and policies to work situations
  • Ability to manage, plan, coordinate, and control all assigned project activities within budget guidelines
  • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to plans and specifications including P&ID’s.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in welded fuel piping system installations and maintenance
  • Minimum 30-hour OSHA certificate
  • Must be able to travel to different worksites

Physical Requirements:   

  • Work a regular 10 hour shift outside in various temperatures
  • Be able to carry, lift, or position material up to 50 lbs.
  • Bend, lay, and kneel occasionally
  • Position/reach overhead occasionally
  • Climb ladders, work from scaffolds or lifts to access work
  • Appropriate PPE will be provided; however, employees must provide their own steel toe work boots.

As a member of our Infrastructure and Services Group you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
- With general direction, creating engineering designs including: conceptual and basis of design technical documents, water supply and hydraulic analysis, fire sprinkler and suppression systems, fire pumps and fire alarm systems.
