The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical record. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Basic computer skills required. Annual competencies are required to be maintained. Possess ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of therapeutic procedures and ability to make accurate physical observation of patients. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Minimum Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.

The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical record. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Basic computer skills required. Annual competencies are required to be maintained. Possess ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of therapeutic procedures and ability to make accurate physical observation of patients. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Minimum Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations :

Oncology Nurses have the privilege of consistently spending one on one time with patients, developing strong personal relationships with both them and their families. Oncology nurses provide comfort and support throughout the process of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Our nurses collaborate with radiation therapists, resident physician, social workers, dosimetrists, and physicists.MUSC has 3 radiation oncology clinics locations in the Charleston area: Hollings Cancer Center, MUSC Main Hospital, and MUSC Radiation Oncology in Mount Pleasant. These clinics manager and treat patients with complex cancer diagnoses at differing stages. We see patients of all ages, although we predominantly treat adults. We treat all diagnoses, but the most common are neurologic, head and neck, gynelogic, breast, lung/thoracic, Gastrointestinal (GI) and Genitourinary (GI), prostate, and sarcomes. The treatment modalities include external beam radiation, brachytherapy, and gamma knife.
