Qualifications:

- Knowledge of computerized information systems (EMR) used in clinical management settings. Experity strongly preferred.
- Direct experience with the following tasks:
- Clinical intake, patient data collection.
- Laboratory specimen collection (blood-draw/venipuncture, urine collection, point of care testing, etc.).
- Performing EKG testing.
- Must meet all other state requirements by law, including but not limited to all state requirements, and licenses, where applicable.
- If required by state, must maintain current certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support clinic operations by assisting with opening/closing duties, including securing facilities, maintaining a clean reception area, and completing compliance checklists.
- Greet and assist patients with professionalism, guiding them through the registration process and addressing questions or concerns.
- Manage multi-line phone systems, perform document scanning, and conduct daily patient follow-up calls as applicable.
- Accurately collect and verify patient insurance and demographic information for input into the EMR system.
- Coordinate patient scheduling needs, including new appointments, reschedules, and follow-up requests.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and patient care.
- Assist providers with clinical procedures, examinations, and delegated medical tasks.
- Conduct clinical intake by capturing thorough patient histories and updating EMRs with accuracy.
- Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens in accordance with clinical standards.
- Administer point-of-care (POC) testing (e.g., Strep, Flu, COVID, HCG, UA, Mono), ensuring timely documentation in the EMR.
- Complete required quality control (QC) testing on applicable medical supplies and devices.
- Perform Urine Drug Screen (UDS) & Breath Alcohol testing (BAT) on employer health patients.
- Maintain well-stocked and sanitized exam rooms, ensuring operational readiness.
- Meet or exceed performance expectations based on key performance indicators (KPIs) established by clinic leadership.
- Support the discharge process by preparing patient instructions, prescriptions, and required documentation such as work or school notes.
- Manage and prioritize patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency and enhance the patient experience.
- Execute provider orders in alignment with state regulations and American Family Care (AFC) protocols.
- Facilitate patient referrals and diagnostic orders, ensuring appropriate follow-up and documentation of results.
- Ensure daily clinic compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in required team meetings and operational huddles to stay aligned with organizational updates.
- Contribute to team development by mentoring and training newly hired staff in accordance with AFC guidelines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards to promote a safe clinical environment.
Working Conditions:
- This is a center-based position requiring prolonged periods of computer use and desk work.
- Physical demands include occasional bending, stooping, and light lifting.
- Travel to other clinic locations within the assigned market may be required.
- When onsite at clinical locations, the work environment may involve moderate noise levels and potential exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens, in accordance with standard healthcare precautions.

Health Care Resource Centers is looking for an organized and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to greet patients, schedule appointments and collect personal information from patients. The Medical Assistant is also responsible for taking vital signs, helping practitioners with treatment and collecting lab samples.
To be successful as a Medical Assistant you must have excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. An ideal candidate also demonstrates a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward the Substance Use Disorder.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules intake appointments, records and verifies patients' information and prepares medical records on new and returning patients
- Check in patients, escort patients to and from waiting room, interviews patients and measures vital signs, records information into patients' electronic charts
- Assist Medical Director/Program Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient intakes and as needed
- Obtains blood specimens and collects nonblood specimens such as urine sputum, for laboratory testing
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients and disinfects treatment rooms, equipment and supplies using germicides
- Acts as receptionist, performs secretarial duties and prepares and maintains reports and records
- Triage/manage questions, phone contacts, and fax messages
- File lab results into appropriate binders and distribute lab results to counselors
- Attend weekly staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma of GED
- Minimum age requirement of 18
- Medical Assistant must be certified or registered
- Phlebotomy is involved in the position and is a required skill.
- Possess CPR/BCLS certification
- Familiar with State Regulations, DEA regulations and TJC and / or CARF Accreditation
- Excellent written and verbal skills required; working knowledge of MS Office and patient management software
- Ability to establish a positive rapport with patients; demonstrate a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward the Substance Use Disorder population.
- 1-2 years’ prior healthcare experience in similar field and environment preferred
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
Salary Range:
Salary ranges from $19.55 to $21.37 an hour.

You would support patients and providers in a fast-paced specialty practice focused on digestive health. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs.
Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients' chart after they have been reviewed by the physician.
Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.
Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required. Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an associate's degree in medical assistance is preferred, national certification as a medical assistant a plus.
