Part-time schedule: M, W, F 5:30a-1:30p and rotating Saturdays 5:30a-10a

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma).
  • One (1) year of working experience as a medical assistant.
  • Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state employed (if applicable).
  • Ability to administer medications.
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), First Aid, and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Works as part of the intake team to ensure clients are seen promptly.
  • Obtain lab work, and urine drug screens.
  • Observe same sex urine samples, test onsite and package for laboratory.
  • Giving and interpreting Mantoux Testing.
  • Makes appointments for clients to see physician, provide lab work and referrals for additional follow up care.
  • Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the clients.
  • Purchasing and ordering of medical supplies.
  • Educates clients about methadone maintenance and detoxification as well as side effects and provides education to clients on lab results and all medical matters.
  • Assists in education with pregnant patients about prenatal care and assists primary counselor in coordinating outside services as needed.
  • Assists Office Manager with front desk duties.

Once patient is cleared initiate procedure via department protocol, monitors and documents necessary findings.Collaborates with additional nuclear medicine staff for appropriate injection time for cardiac perfusion studies.Determines appropriate time to discontinue exercise stress test.Records pertinent information on electrocardiogram and communicate abnormal finding to appropriate medical staff.Initiates emergency procedures according to established hospital policy. Prepares patient charts according to procedures, documents pertinent information, records stress test information on charge sheets. (Demonstrated by monthly review of charts). 3) Performs all appropriate quality control tests on cameras, uptake probes, and all hotlab equipment to the specification provided by the radiation safety department, equipment manufacturers, NRC and the State, respectively. 4) Performs all hotlab duties such as aseptic radiopharmaceutical kit preparation according to the package insert, generator elution (assaying for Mo99 and aluminum breakthrough), receiving, logging, and shipping of materials according to the DOTs guidelines, monitoring, storing, and disposing of radioactive waste. Maintains a neat and safe environment. 5) Aseptically draws up and administers the correct radiopharmaceutical to the correct patient identified by two methods of identification following National Patient Safety Goals standards and ARRT/NMTCB Code of Ethics Standards. Proficient in all administration techniques such as straight venous and subcutaneous injections, intravenous catheter and urethral french catheter feeding tube insertions, as well as phlebotomy. Maintains ALARA principal at all times. 6) Statuses and charges patient studies as appropriate and in a timely manner. Takes a thorough and accurate patient history both prior to and during the examination to ensure the most accurate diagnosis by the interpreting radiologist. 7) Communicate effectively, respectfully, and timely to all patients and fellow healthcare providers. Explains nature of the exam completely and in laymen's terms to the patients so as to allay apprehension and elicit cooperation. Validates patients understanding of procedure, e.g. asking the patient to repeat the instructions back to you, etc. 8) Works well as part of a team or independently (on call). In this position, you will work closely with the WHS Site Manager, WHS Specialist, and occasionally the Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS). This includes attending weekly associate safety committee meetings, greeting all new hires for the site or through daily one-on-one interaction. Additionally, the OMR will participate in weekly case management review meetings as necessary.
As an OMR, you will independently assess and administer first aid as well as offer guidance to Amazon Associates (AAs) on both occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses. You should be passionate about learning and advocating health and wellness principles to consistently support AAs on a daily basis. You will refer care to outside medical providers as needed, and learn about OSHA regulations, risk, and analysis.
The OMR will function as a part of the larger team onsite, assisting with all first aid needs and support safety operations as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide first aid support and make referrals to outside medical providers as necessary.
- Minimize the AA risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement.
- Maintain all records of care provided to AAs.
- Coordinate and maintain the workers' compensation and return to work programs for AAs with work-related injuries.
- Provide daily activity logs and end of shift reports.
- Engage with AAs and leadership on operations floor to provide coaching regarding observed at-risk work habits.
- Maintain a clean working environment and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained.
- Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR and AED certifications classes.
- Maintain all first aid, CPR, AED credentials.
- Work flexible shifts which could include days, nights, holidays, and/or weekends.
- Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols.
- Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
For those that do not have an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, must obtain within 3 weeks of start date.
Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by an approved emergency cardiac care (ECC) provider; AND must have one of the following:
- Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Paramedic Certification from the Department of Health OR the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT); OR
- In the last year, six months job experience in the Military as a Combat Medic (U.S. Army), Field Medic (U.S. Army), Healthcare Specialist (U.S. Army), Hospital Corpsman (U.S. Navy), or Aerospace Medical Service Technician (U.S. Air Force); OR
- Current active Athletic Trainer Certification, by either the Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent State Certification.

Delivers on service promise as evidenced by metrics in all unit practices and programs. Provides leadership collaboratively with the Nurse Manager in proactively developing quality driven and cost-effective initiatives. + **Human Resource Leadership** : The Assistant Nurse Manger in collaboration with the Nurse Manager leads a positive work environment that facilitates the delivery of excellent patient and caregiver experiences. Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Responsibilities The incumbent provides patient care directly and/or through the supervision of mid-level practitioners, residents, fellows and/or medical students in the nursing home setting. In addition to their role as a clinician, the CLC Medical Director will have administrative responsibilities for leadership and direction of CLC development and programs, as well as effective interface with the CLC staff. The CLC Medical Director will participate fully in all accreditation processes, reviews, and site visits. Actively participate and manage quality improvement projects and work collaboratively with facility leadership to improve program and facility wide quality metrics. Provide direct patient care which includes assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome measures of medical problems meeting universally accepted quality of care standards. Initiating and adjusting therapeutic regimens, performing histories and physicals, ordering diagnostic and therapeutic tests/studies, initiating consults and referrals, and prescribing medications/supplies in accordance with VA policy, VA formulary, federal & state regulations, and working within their scope of practice. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. (NOTE: VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), b) OR ((2) Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA),OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United States), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with appropriate professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an appropriate range of patient care experiences. Residents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rather, they are to have a "scope of practice" that allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional Requirement: Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Preferred Experience: Geriatric experience, Community Living Center/Nursing home experience. Physical demands include some physical exertion including periods of walking, standing, regular and recurring bending, stooping, lifting equipment or objects such as assisting patients on and off examination tables. Education Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted, or Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted. For foreign medical graduates not covered in (1) or (2) above, facility officials must verify with the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) that the applicant has met requirements for certification, and must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certificate, if claimed by the applicant. (If the applicant does not claim an ECFMG certificate, facility officials must still confirm that the medical school meets (or met) ECFMG eligibility requirements for the year the candidate graduated.) NOTE: The Under Secretary of Health or designee in the VHA Central Office may approve the appointment under authority of 38 U.S.C. 7405 of a physician graduate of a school of medicine not covered above if the candidate is to be assigned to a research, academic, or administrative position with no patient care responsibilities. The appointment will be made only in exceptional circumstances where the candidate's credentials clearly demonstrate high professional attainment or expertise in the specialty area.
