We seek a talented Medical Director or Senior Medical Director who will be responsible for providing leadership and establishing strategy and implementing clinical drug developments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee autoimmune or oncology drug development for successful implementation and conduct of clinical trials including early phase investigations and registration trials
• Lead pathology and biomarker group for informing patient selection strategies and biomarker development locally and internationally
• Provide medical and scientific leadership for internal cross-functional team members for development of anti-neoplastic agents including discovery scientists, medical scientists, biostatisticians, and pharmacokineticists
• Interact with global regulatory bodies including the FDA and EMA to accomplish tasks related to autoimmune and oncology product development and collaborate with internal regulatory experts and oversee the clinical research plans and sections for Investigational new Drug applications (INDs) and New Drug Applications (NDAs)
• Facilitate the development of key internal and external documents pertaining to product development including clinical study protocol, informed consents, CRFs, CSR, meeting abstracts and scientific journal publications
• Collaborate with external vendors, such as CROs, external imaging and laboratory resources, for successful implementation and conduct of early phase and registration global clinical studies
• Serve as a source for medical and scientific expertise in autoimmune or oncology for outlining design strategy and execution for drug development

• M.D. degree
• 5+ years of industry experience in autoimmune and oncology drug development
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong public speaking skills
• Oral and written proficiency in English

Description and Responsibilities

Open Sky is seeking an experienced and innovative clinical leader to join our leadership team as the Medical Director and make a profound impact on the clinical care we provide to the individuals and families we serve.

The Medical Director leads the design and implementation of all medical practices within the organization, including clinical and administrative oversight, and strategic leadership for the delivery of medical and psychiatric services. They ensure that clinical care meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and effectiveness while aligning with the organization’s mission, values, and regulatory requirements. The Medical Director also provides key leadership in quality and risk management and works closely with the Chief Program Officer and other agency leaders to strategize on agency-wide quality and risk management.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison between the executive team and medical staff.

• Provide direct clinical services, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and consultation as needed.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF, DEA, DPH).

• Support the supervision of Open Sky’s Director of Nursing Practice.

• Consult with and provide feedback to leadership at the Bridge Training Institute on trainings and curriculum building.

• Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate physicians and other clinical staff to meet service delivery requirements.

• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, EOHHS agencies, medical schools, healthcare providers, etc. to foster partnerships and enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school with current, valid, and unrestricted DEA certificate.

• Board-certified in Psychiatry, with five (5) years of clinical and administrative experience.

• Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

• Valid Drivers license and acceptable driving history.
