Responsibilities- Schedule, cancel, and re-schedule patient appointments and/or consults; enter no-show information; prepare for clinic visits; and monitor appointments and consults.
- Provide general reception support in the Release of Information (ROI) offices at various medical centers.
- Scan insurance cards, protect secure information, and complete all insurance buffer (ICB) encounters required by ICB.
- Scanning of records and documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support HIM functions at medical centers.
- Make outgoing and receive incoming phone calls.
- Review requests for reimbursement of travel costs and reconcile claims/vouchers for payments using electronic systems.
- Review ambulance claims for eligibility and payment.
- Assist in arranging transportation for eligible patients and work with clinical teams to request appropriate mode of transportation.
- Citizen of the United States of America.
- Ability to speak clearly, hear and write English.
- Utilize computer programs appropriately, usually involving spreadsheets, word processing, etc.; log in; type 40-50 wpm with minimum errors.
- Heavy phone and computer usage, often simultaneously.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital terminology and/or clinics.
- Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements; will be provided training by the SFVAHS on appointment management, VA policy and procedures.
- Have the following experience or education (or combination of both) to meet minimum qualifications for employment:
- Six months experience of clerical, office, customer service, or other administrative work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Applicants can substitute one year of education above high school to qualify.
- One year of education above high school or one to two years of related job experience.
- Experience/Education combination: Equivalent combination of experience and education qualify for an entry level position for which both education and experience are acceptable.
- Ability to pass a required level of security clearance (NACI-level background check).

Job Summary
Performs the most complex duties involving the installation, maintenance, overhaul, repair, and testing of various medical and dental equipment used in patient diagnosis and treatment. Assists higher level repairers. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
+ AA degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
+ Ten years of directly related work experience to include Advanced Biomedical Repairman experience with Fleet Marine Force (FMF) or equivalent.
+ In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
+ In-depth knowledge and application of mechanical, electrical, and electronic principles and circuitry, the ability to determine malfunctions, and the skills to repair and maintain a variety of medical and dental equipment.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, liquid and air flow sheets, and other specifications and technical manuals.
+ Ability to make standard computations using algebraic expressions and shop formulas relating to load requirements of wiring and equipment.
+ Ability to apply practical knowledge of the principles of electronic circuits, and functions of electronic tubes and transistors in order to diagnose malfunctions and make appropriate repairs.
+ Ability to work with small components using strong eye-hand-finger coordination.
+ Ability to use basic office software applications.
+ Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
+ Must maintain a valid passport.
+ Travel required up to 70% of the time.
+ Must be deployable within 72 hours.
+ U.S. Citizen.

Essential Functions
- Supports patients/residents with activities of daily living.
- Assists patients/residents with personal hygiene.
- Takes vital signs and height and weight measurements.
- Feeds and ambulates patients/residents according to specific procedures.
- Maintains patient/resident's rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
- Observes and reports changes in patient/resident conditions.

Must have manual and finger dexterity. Physical abilities testing required.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
