In this role, you will:

Responsible for Quality Assurance, keeping the integrity of the specimen and guaranteeing each specimen complies with CAP (College of American Pathology) and specimen processing regulations implemented by the New York State Department of Health and CLIA. To be successful as a Quality Assurance Representative you should be incredibly thorough and able to help our company maintain the highest quality standards.

  • Responsible for generating and sorting the QA report on a daily basis.

  • Communicate QA issues with external clients in an effort to obtain correct information to process the case.

  • Prioritize work and meet deadlines.

  • Ensure to Resolve and document all QA cases with a proper and clear Resolution.

  • Communicate with the Sales Force when added assistance is needed to resolve QA issue.

  • Utilize Fax Authorization Forms to retrieve pertinent information needed to resolve a QA case that must be CAP (College of American Pathology) compliant before processing. Ensure fax authorizations are filled out correctly and returned promptly.

  • Follow up with pathologist and the VP of QA when unsure of how to proceed with a given situation. Communicate repeat issues to Sales Representative.

  • Follow up with the lab supervisors when discrepancies occur on accessioned and grossed cases.

  • Contact, communicate, and verify all site discrepancies between requisitions and slides discovered by pathologist to the external client.

  • Return specimen to clients when necessary using FedEx website and document returns and cancelations.

  • Communicate all incorrect and unnecessary flags with management

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for providing clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality in the site to achieve quality targets for customers and meet our business goals, developing quality-process links with customers in line with the Quality Management system including ISO 90001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) processes, and oversee continued compliance and embedding across the business.

The essential requirements of the job include:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering/manufacturing
* Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills
* Strong in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision making
* Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience
* Experience dealing with customers and suppliers
* Proficient in Microsoft / Minitab and able to analyze and interpret data.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Responsibilities:
Quality Oversight & Compliance
  • Develop and implement QA/QC plans for equipment manufacturing and construction to include inspection protocols, acceptance criteria, and escalation procedures for non-conformances across all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. IEEE, ANSI, ISO, etc.), regulatory requirements, and internal specifications.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of suppliers and contractors to verify compliance with approved quality plans.
  • Document findings, issue corrective action requests, and track resolution to closure.
  • Ensure that all inspections are traceable and meet regulatory documentation standards.
Construction Quality Management
  • Review and approve contractors' quality plans related to construction plans and procedures.
  • Evaluate contractor work plans, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs) for quality perspective.
  • Ensure that quality checkpoints are embedded in the schedule and that procedures reflect best practices.
  • Conduct site visits to verify that construction QA/QC activities are executed per approved Quality Management Plan specifications.
  • Collaborate with site managers to resolve non-conformances.
  • Lead root cause investigations for field issues by facilitating cross-functional meetings to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence. 
OEM Equipment Manufacturing Oversight
  • Evaluate OEMs' quality systems and testing protocols.
  • Ensure that their internal audits, calibration programs, and material traceability systems meet industry standards.
  • Review, evaluate, and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review, evaluate, and approve corrective actions plan for any equipment failures during all phases from manufacturing to post-installation.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections and corrective actions by using digital platforms to log inspection results, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Corrective Action and Preventive Action plans (CAPAs).
  • Ensure that all documentation is audit-ready and accessible to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare formal audit summaries for submission and notification to all stakeholders of any critical findings and proposed resolutions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop lessons learned reports and integrate findings into future project planning.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Interface with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, procurement evaluations, and construction kickoff meetings to embed quality expectations early on.
  • Ensure that specifications reflect realistic quality standards and that vendors are pre-qualified accordingly.
  • Train internal and external teams on quality standards.

Under the supervision of a Child Protective Manager, with wide latitude for the use of judgment and independent decision making, the Quality Assurance ("QA") Supervisor will work within a unit responsible for encompassing all areas of quality assurance within the Division of Child Protection's (DCP) 19 offices, 5 boroughs and 2 program areas.

In this role, the QA Supervisor will conduct on-going case reviews of open investigations, analyze child welfare case best practice across the division, and immediately provide coaching to front line staff, as necessary, to support safety. Tasks specific to this role include but are not limited to:

* Review and incorporate family history to support discussions around safety and risk planning with team. Assess validity of allegations; determines and implements an appropriate plan of action, which may include the removal of child(ren) from the home. Monitors progress of the safety/service plan.
* Ensure all pertinent parties (i.e. PD/FSU, OSI) to action meetings/clarification calls are notified and participate for continuity and consensus around the safety plan/service planning to address risk.
* Utilizes various in-house supports and databases to support/justify the program's rationale for action(s) and/or decision(s) made with respect to the plan for a family. Enters and maintains computerized records including ASAP tool, email correspondence, case management tracking, and any other program related materials.
* Conduct case conferences with staff by reviewing pertinent case records and reports, clarifying and requesting information and data, in order to insure appropriate agency mandated services, referrals/ treatment plans are being provided.
* Monitor programmatic operations of borough/ program, by observing performance, meeting with staff, making field visits, reviewing performance reports, reviewing available records in order to insure compliance of staff/ program with stated objectives, policy, city, state and federal mandates.
* Develop and construct evaluation instruments and tools by analyzing program objectives, researching alternative evaluation formats, pre-testing designs where possible in order to measure the performance of DCP operations.
* Draft reports in narrative form, using standard forms or formats, by reviewing, summarizing and explaining data, in order to record, analyze work activities, review findings and recommendations made by oversight bodies.
* Participate in the drafting of policy and procedures manuals, memoranda and other instructional guides by using information gathered from governmental regulations, management policy decisions, background research, following agency format, in order to standardize work activity in compliance with laws, regulations and policies.
* Intervene in difficult or non-routine cases by reassessing the situation, making special referrals, conferring with other agencies, providing special direction and consultation, following up on results, in order to facilitate resolution of special.
* May make field visits for the purposes of investigation or consultation, including to review files, conference with staff, participate in meeting, provide one on one coaching and any other quality assurance measures requiring field work.
* Represent the unit/division in training sessions, meetings by asking relevant questions, taking notes, in order to learn new or revised agency procedures, regulations and other matters.
* Support other programs on special projects/requests, as assigned by the Deputy Director. These tasks may include attending hiring pools, supporting Policy & Training initiatives, and or any needs identified by executive leadership. QA is a member of ACS' Collaborative Quality Improvement "CQI" cross-divisional team and supports DCP in these meetings in developing and following up with the zone's performance improvement plan. As part of this supportive process, the Supervisor may be required to travel citywide to co-assist the Child Protective Manager in these meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in one or a combination of the following fields: social work, psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, education (including early childhood), nursing or cultural anthropology, at least 12 of which must have been in one of these disciplines; 30 semester credits toward a Masters of Social Work degree or toward a graduate degree in a related field; plus eighteen months of child protective casework experience.

Note: Section 424-a of the New York Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a candidate for employment with child-caring responsibilities is or has been the subject of a child abuse and maltreatment report.

Preferred Skills

* A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by 30 semester credits in one or a combination of the following fields: social work, psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, education (including early childhood), nursing or cultural anthropology, at least 12 of which must have been in one of these disciplines, and 30 semester credits toward a Masters of Social Work or a graduate degree in a related field, and at least eighteen months of child welfare casework experience. - Strong command of various child protection databases including Connections, ATS, HHS Connect, and LTS, and deep familiarity with ACS policy and protocol. - No less than 5 years of professional experience working as a child protective specialist in a child protective unit, engaging in child protective case practice including investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect, assessing child safety and risk, documenting progress notes within mandated timeframes, and reviewing case history and court documents. - Two years of professional experience working as a child protective specialist supervisor in a child protective unit, supervising and training child protective specialists in their work of case practice investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect.
