Job Description

The Johns Hopkins University's Department of Materials Science and Engineering invites applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor) in the areas of computational materials science (including data science and artificial intelligence) and big data to advance materials synthesis, processing, and characterization.
We seek candidates whose research focuses on modeling, machine learning/AI, or big data characterization of all material classes, including biomaterials and electronic materials. Research topics, both foundational and applied, at the intersection of machine learning, data science, and materials science, among other research areas, are of interest to this call.
Candidates will be encouraged to collaborate with existing university-wide initiatives. Opportunities for interactions across the university include the Data Science and AI Institute, the Materials Characterization and Processing facility, the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute, the Institute for NanoBioTechnology, Ralph O'Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI), the Mathematical Institute for Data Science, and JHU's Applied Physics Laboratory. Johns Hopkins University has committed to a transformative investment in its Data Science and AI Institute, including the addition of 80 new tenure-track faculty positions, 30 Bloomberg Distinguished Professorships, and the construction of a 500,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility on the Homewood campus.
The expected salary range is Assistant Professors $150k-$00k, Associate Professors 180k- 245k, Full Professors 200k- 450k, for 12-month FTE. The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. The Department of Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine seeks candidates for an Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Division of Acute Care Surgery. The applicant should have training and experience in Trauman, Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Critical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical
Time spent treating patients will consistent of evaluation and mangement of Trauma and Emergency General Surgery patients at our urban teaching level I and level II trauma centers. There are also opportunities for an elective general surgery practive.
Faculty attend in numerous Surgical Intensive Care Units (ICUs). The Surgical ICUs have a mixture of surgical patients including; trauma, transplant, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, plastic, obstetric, gynecologic-oncology and genral surgical services. Fellows are present in the ICUs as they participate in integrated fellowship between the Departments of Surgery and Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.
Academic
Resident, fellow and medical student supervision and instruction are major components of the position. Education is focused on general surgeyr residents, ICU fellows and Acute Surgery fellows.
Research
Research endeavors will be encouraged and supported. Clinical reearch and outcome studies are abundant. Our current faculty have close colaboratiosn with the Johns Hopkins Surgery center for Outcomes Research (JSCOR), The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School fo Oublic Health, and the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. Numerous faculty are supported with ongoing grants from: NIH, AHRQ, PCORI, and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Salary and Benefits
The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. This position is eligible for a quarterly productivity (wRVU) bonus and a year-end bonus.

General Description

The Russell H. Morgan Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Maryland is seekinga full-time board certified or board eligible Vascular Interventional Radiologist with VIR fellowship training, VIR CAQ or eligible. The ideal candidate will have an interest in a full time 100% VIR academic career, with a resume that reflects potential as a clinician scientist and educator.

The successful candidate will join a division with long pedigree of excellence in clinical VIR practice, with a large ACGME accredited VIR residency (currently 20 integrated and independent IR residents) and world-renowned research facilities.This position will be primarily sited at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore MD, although the division has regional presence having expanded to 3 regional hospitals (2 hospitals in Washington DC suburbs), and including two free standing ambulatory outpatient centers.

Currently, the division is comprised of 15 full time interventional radiologists, 8 physician assistants, 1 nurse practitioner and 1 research coordinator. At The Johns Hopkins Hospital, the VIR division has state of the art equipment including 6 single plane angio rooms, a state of the art hybrid angioCT unit, a dedicated VIR CT scanner, and one iMRI suite. The department is committed to excellence in imaged-based clinical care, with admission privileges, a dedicated consult service, a bedside procedure service, and daily clinic.

The expected base pay for this faculty position is$260,000 (assistant professor) . This position is entitled to quarterly supplements that total an additional$05,000 per year subject to meeting the clinical days worked minimum (approximately 180 clinical days per year).

This position also qualifies for a productivity bonus of up to 90,000 per year based on meeting work relative value unit (wRVU) targets, and a year-end academic bonus of up to 40,000 based on meeting goals for academic productivity, education, quality and citizenship. All supplements and bonuses are subject to the timely completion of clinical documentation. As a result, the annual maximum compensation for this position ranges from 495,000 to 535,000 based on academic rank and the factors described above. The levels of base pay, quarterly supplements, productivity bonus and year-end bonus are reviewed annually and are subject to change. For more information, please contact the hiring department.

Qualifications

Candidates must be dedicated to teaching future interventional radiologists and desire an academic career. There are excellent research facilities including animal Interventional suites and housing, opportunities to collaborate with multiple disciplines in basic and translational research, in a division with a strong research history and collaborators across the various medical disciplines including Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, as well as the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Eligibility for a full Maryland medical license and its acquisition before starting employment is required.

We expect you to be clinical 4 days/week. Your practice will substantially focus on transplant surgery, including inpatient rounding, participation in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement efforts, etc.as well as the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery. An additional full day will be devoted to heart failure clinic as well as general adult cardiac outpatient clinic.

General Academic and Teaching: We anticipate that you will devote 10%, half day per week, of your time to the formal and informal instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows. I. Specific Responsibilities and Duties
In addition to mutually agreed upon goals to be developed in partnership with the department director, and the division chief, the assistant professor shall assume the following responsibilities and duties:
Clinical: Service commensurate with your skills in cardiac surgery at a clinical commitment of 90% effort. You are expected to participate in the adult cardiac surgery commitment of 90% effort. You are expected to participate in the adult cardiac surgery service call responsibilities as well as call for cardiac transplantation/mechanical circulatory support. We expect you to be clinical 4 days/week. Your practice will substantially focus on transplant surgery, including inpatient rounding, participation in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement efforts, etc.as well as the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery. An additional full day will be devoted to heart failure clinic as well as general adult cardiac outpatient clinic.

The Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine Residency is recruiting faculty to join our faculty team.
The Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland sponsors an ACGME-accredited four-year training program with 12 residents per year. Since its founding in 1974, the Johns Hopkins Emergency Medicine Residency has an established history of training leaders in the field. We are home to the one and only 5-year EM-Anesthesia program with 10 resident spots, as well as a multitude of fellowships. Our undergraduate team runs a required core clerkship as well as an advanced clerkship for our home and rotating students.
The Department of Emergency Medicine faculty consists of over 50 board-certified emergency physicians. Johns Hopkins Medicine has three locations in the Baltimore region. The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 1,000-bed academic Level 1 trauma and comprehensive stroke center in Baltimore that has been placed at or near the top of U.S. hospital rankings annually for the last two decades. It is the flagship of our health care system. Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, also in Baltimore, is a 420-bed academic Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke center that is home to our regional burn center. Howard County General Hospital is a 250-bed community hospital in Columbia, Maryland. Faculty may work at one or more sites.
