The Department of Pediatrics, Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is seeking a candidate for a faculty position in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Cystic Fibrosis Center. The division has a comprehensive Cystic Fibrosis Center (pediatric and adult), a comprehensive sleep disorders program, technology dependent center, aero digestive, asthma and general pulmonary clinics. The position will have both clinical and academic responsibilities. In support of our academic endeavors, we have a state of the art Pediatric Clinical Research Center, we have an active CFF TDN Center and Rutgers RBHS has a Clinical and Translational Science Award. The candidate will be expected to provide ambulatory and inpatient care including bronchoscopies. Responsibilities include developing a strong clinical and teaching base for medical students, residents and fellows. Candidates will be expected to develop research projects and start up grant funding is available for qualified applicants. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited medical school program including formal specialty training in Pediatric Pulmonology. Training in Sleep medicine is an asset. The inpatient clinical services of the division of pediatric pulmonary medicine are conducted at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital (BMSCH) of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. This is a 105 bed acute care hospital located on the only pediatric academic health campus in the state of New Jersey. The BMSCH is ranked as one of America's Best Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report.
The Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, and outpatient services are provided at the Child Health Institute of New Jersey which also houses our research faculty. The Department of Pediatrics includes physicians and basic scientists who conduct collaborative research with an emphasis on mechanisms of disease, novel therapies, epidemiology and/or outcomes research in the areas of relevance to childhood diseases. The Department provides a collaborative setting for the study of basic mechanisms of disease and outcomes research that would provide new insights to the treatment of childhood diseases. The Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine is consistently ranked as one of the highly NIH-funded academic universities and Rutgers is a member of the Association of American Universities comprising the top comprehensive research universities in North America. Adjacent to the Children's hospital is the PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital which is one of the country's largest inpatient acute rehabilitation hospitals for children. **Description**
The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is seeking a transitional care physician with particular interest in presurgical optimization and perioperative management to join our team at the Center for Perioperative Medicine (CPM). The Center for Perioperative Medicine is URMCs award-winning perioperative optimization clinic which provides care for over 70,000 surgical and procedural patients each year. This role would involve collaboration to develop novel care pathways for a variety of perioperative patients, including ambulatory orthopedic joint arthroplasty patients, under the support and direction of the Director of the CPM. We are looking for a motivated, collaborative, and creative physician with a background in either internal medicine, family medicine, internal medicine-pediatric medicine, or emergency medicine. The ideal candidate will have a passion for perioperative evaluation, risk assessment, and patient optimization across our tertiary and community hospitals, as well as our ambulatory surgical centers. Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills are essential. A successful candidate will:
- Embrace working with leaders in perioperative medicine, anesthesiology, and orthopedic surgery
- Understand the value of quality improvement in healthcare and be open to integrating QI principles into the development and growth of the pathways created
- Understand the importance of patient and system optimization and be willing to learn how to highlight these elements in clinical practice
- Be excited to develop and participate in a program that will strive to provide best evidence-based care, in a safety-net and transitional care model
- Actively participate in and collaborate on the provision of perioperative care from decision to operate through a warm hand-off to primary care
