Overview

The Structures Division of the H&K Group, Inc. , is looking for an experienced Project Manager to support public and private projects. The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to ensure goals of project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a team player, and a creative problem solver.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Maintain up-to-date project progress information and cost of labor and material data for project control and analysis
  • Create and update at least monthly the overall schedule. Review schedules with the superintendent for each project including the required timetables for work performed by subcontractors
  • Work as a team with assigned foreman and superintendent to build project in a controlled manner. Manage and coordinate with subcontractor
  • Coordinate with purchasing the requisition of materials and furnish information for proper coding of invoices
  • Provide modifications resulting in change orders
  • Shares with the Estimator in the processing of plan revisions for change orders and distribute as required
  • Process Additional Work Authorizations (AWA’s) for change order submission
  • Coordinate and process change orders or technical problems with client requirements, suppliers, superintendents, and subcontractors
  • Review project cost reports each day
  • Visit project sites for troubleshooting and for the purposes of ensuring project quality. Site visits to be at least once a week 
  • Oversee project security and safety
  • Prepare project AIA Billing requisitions with project secretary
  • Review all purchase orders, delivery tickets, subcontractor requisitions, and invoices to see that they are coded correctly for project costing
  • Maintain all project files: submittals, shop drawings, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, punch lists
  • Occasionally meet with all subcontractors/suppliers for project coordination
  • Maintain a log for all submittals and shop drawings
  • Assist with new project transitions and pre-job planning
  • Chair all project meetings
  • Meet or exceed project objectives as determined in the pre-job planning process
  • Provide accurate percent complete status on projects to accounting each month
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of job costs vs. budget each month
  • Report to top management each month on gross margin improvement strategies and accomplishments
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications



Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university
    • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Five years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Proficient computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

 Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Ten years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region
  • Certified PE
  • OSHA and/or other applicable safety certifications and training

The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to ensure goals of project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Maintain up-to-date project progress information and cost of labor and material data for project control and analysis
  • Create and update at least monthly the overall schedule. Review schedules with the superintendent for each project including the required timetables for work performed by subcontractors
  • Work as a team with assigned foreman and superintendent to build project in a controlled manner. Manage and coordinate with subcontractor
  • Coordinate with purchasing the requisition of materials and furnish information for proper coding of invoices
  • Provide modifications resulting in change orders
  • Shares with the Estimator in the processing of plan revisions for change orders and distribute as required
  • Process Additional Work Authorizations (AWA’s) for change order submission
  • Coordinate and process change orders or technical problems with client requirements, suppliers, superintendents, and subcontractors
  • Review project cost reports each day
  • Visit project sites for troubleshooting and for the purposes of ensuring project quality. Site visits to be at least once a week 
  • Oversee project security and safety
  • Prepare project AIA Billing requisitions with project secretary
  • Review all purchase orders, delivery tickets, subcontractor requisitions, and invoices to see that they are coded correctly for project costing
  • Maintain all project files: submittals, shop drawings, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, punch lists
  • Occasionally meet with all subcontractors/suppliers for project coordination
  • Maintain a log for all submittals and shop drawings
  • Assist with new project transitions and pre-job planning
  • Chair all project meetings
  • Meet or exceed project objectives as determined in the pre-job planning process
  • Provide accurate percent complete status on projects to accounting each month
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of job costs vs. budget each month
  • Report to top management each month on gross margin improvement strategies and accomplishments
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications



Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university
    • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Five years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Proficient computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

 Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Ten years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region
  • Certified PE
  • OSHA and/or other applicable safety certifications and training

  • Prepare thorough site analysis to determine allowable density and layout constraints based upon municipal land use ordinances and site-specific features.
  • Prepare horizontal and vertical alignment of street layout and profiles.
  • Prepare detailed grading plans.
  • Prepare thorough stormwater management design based upon municipal land use ordinances and/or State best management practices/regulations.
  • Prepare thorough water supply and sewage facilities design.
  • Prepare erosion and sedimentation control/NPDES plans and post construction stormwater management designs in accordance with State best management practices/regulations.
  • Prepare utility design and manage utility coordination for various land development projects.
  • Manage sub-consultants related to geotechnical, wetlands, traffic, etc.
  • Travel to field, project, Township, etc. meetings to communicate project design aspects with Project Managers, Engineers, Township officials and Clients. (A company fleet vehicle will be provided in such instances.)
  • Ability to write comprehensive and detailed narratives and various forms of correspondence.

Restoration Project Manager

Paul Davis Restoration is one of the largest professional full-service restoration and remodeling firms in Pennsylvania. Our office, based in Lancaster, is the Mid-Atlantic hub for all large or commercial losses. We are looking for a full-time Project Manager to be responsible for ensuring growth and development of the construction business. The Project Manager must deliver a source of contacts, develop plans and actions to deliver the project and be the front line contact following the project through to completion. The Associate must deliver these services through personal contribution/activity in our marketing area. The successful associate will be responsible for both estimating and project managing a list of jobs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure the unit achieves its financial obligations through sales and project management.
  • Participate in job reviews and monitor "pipeline" movement.
  • Ensure that business grows via B2B and retail sales, and discover new avenues for sales.
  • Continuously monitor the development of key clients and activity.
  • Participate in the recruitment of key personnel and tradesman.
  • Review sales growth and suggest corrective actions.
  • Meet with home and property owners to conduct onsite inspections and scope generation.
  • Estimate each loss using 3rd party estimating software.
  • Work closely with insured and interested parties.
  • Ensure each project achieves a minimum gross profit margin as determined by company standards.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with insurance adjusters, brokers, and TPA's.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, requiring evening and weekend point of contact for any new losses, as determined by the rotating schedule.
  • Manage project life-cycle, including project scheduling, sub-contractor management, and client relationships, while maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and adhere to project schedules.
  • Collect all necessary documentation at the close of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Project Manager for a restoration or construction company.
  • Proficiency with computers/tablets
  • Experience with Xactimate, or other estimating software preferred.
  • Industry certifications, including IICRC and Lead preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
