- Design and develop mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and full robotic systems using advanced CAD software.
- Perform structural, thermal, and kinematic analysis using FEA and other simulation tools to ensure design integrity and performance.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and assembly.
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and control engineers to integrate mechanical systems with other components.
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototypes and production units.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the development, testing, and field deployment phases.
- Specify materials and manufacturing processes, working with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing designs and the development of new technologies.
- Document design changes, test results, and technical specifications thoroughly.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex mechanical challenges.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on robotics, automation, or complex machinery.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA.
- Experience with CAE tools for stress, thermal, and motion analysis (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Strong understanding of mechanisms, actuators, sensors, and control systems in robotic applications.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to design challenges.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, essential for a hybrid work environment.
- Experience in project management or leading technical tasks is a plus.
