Job Description

The Company:

Tutor Intelligence is a startup building the technology and processes to let robots go where they've never gone before: the average American factory. We understand that general-purpose and generally-intelligent robots are going to be built in our lifetimes, and we're combining human and artificial intelligence to lead the charge. As an AI software company who deploys its inventions directly into the facilities that need them, on state-of-the-art hardware, every line of code written at Tutor has a direct impact on the global, physical economy. We're seeking the thinkers, builders, and researchers who can help us responsibly deliver the future of automation.

The Role:

In this role you will close the loop between human instruction and robot automation. Models you create will be deployed to robots out in the field, in a tight feedback loop controlled by you. You will create and improve deep learning models such as CNNs, build a cloud-based data and model training platform, and find ways to help our robots optimize for speed and accuracy.

For this role, we seek a pragmatic and competent engineer with domain expertise in computer vision and robotics, and a drive to proliferate robotic technologies.

At Tutor, engineering is inherently cross-disciplinary and collaborative. We seek someone with a diverse background across the robotics stack, including anything from full stack web-dev to mechanical engineering.

Our Culture:

We believe that something truly special can happen when talented, motivated people work together; at Tutor, every member of our team is empowered to have real impact in everything that they do. We work collaboratively on just about everything we do - nobody has the full story, but we are all trying to, and need to work together to maximize our robots performance.

Responsibilities:
    • Train, fine tune, and deploy visual and language foundation models across our stack
    • Manage data in databases and optimize the flow of information from our robots to maximize machine learning potential
Skills Needed
    • Knowledge of machine learning models, particularly visual models with an emphasis on recent advanced models such as SAM, DINO, etc.
    • Strong software skills
    • Full stack knowledge, ability to not only work on machine learning models in python but also to spin up inference infrastructure, web ui, and perform database operations
    • General robotics knowledge & experience

Job Description

We're excited to be partnering with Tutor Intelligence , an ambitious robotics company pioneering the next era of factory automation. Backed by cutting-edge AI and a mission to bring intelligent automation to everyday industrial settings, Tutor is on a mission to redefine how robots work in the real world.

About the Company
Tutor Intelligence is developing systems that combine human and machine intelligence to unlock the potential of robotics in traditional manufacturing environments. Their platform enables general-purpose robots to perform complex tasks in dynamic, unstructured settings-a challenge few have attempted and even fewer have solved. Every deployment is directly tied to real-world impact, bridging the gap between software and physical systems.

The Opportunity
This is not your typical software role. At Tutor, engineers write code that interacts directly with the physical world-controlling real robots, planning motion trajectories, enabling perception, and building robust infrastructure to support real-time systems. If you're eager to move beyond standard web applications and want to tackle hard technical problems at the intersection of AI, robotics, and industrial automation, this could be a perfect fit.

You'll join a small, highly technical team where collaboration, curiosity, and strong programming fundamentals are key. Whether you're working on firmware, cloud infrastructure, or optimization pipelines, you'll be encouraged to shape your own role and dive deep across the robotics stack.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong software engineering skills and fluency in at least one modern programming language
  • Collaborative mindset-comfortable working in a team, iterating ideas at the whiteboard, and tackling ambiguous problems
  • Excited by the physical world-unafraid to step into factories, test robots, and get hands-on with hardware
  • Passion for the future of robotics and the role intelligent systems will play in reshaping the global economy
Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)
  • Proficiency with Python and/or TypeScript + React
  • Experience with robotic manipulation, motion planning, or optimization
  • Background in computer vision, classical or deep learning-based
  • Comfort with infrastructure tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or systemd
  • Exposure to hardware/software integration or embedded systems

Job Description

Description
Amazon Robotics (AR) develops state-of-the-art robotics solutions to power Amazon's world-class Fulfillment Operations, which handle more single items than any other company. Our collaborative team is at the forefront of building automated manipulation products to handle and process packages and singular items. Since 2012, Amazon has developed, produced, and deployed more than 750,000 robots across its operations network advancing technologies to help employees stow, pick and pack customer orders.
Our Global Robotics Deployment team is searching for a high energy Principal Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) that can manage the complexity and diversity of Deployment Services delivered on behalf of our internal Amazon Robotics Solutions and Engineering customers in a variety of building-type use cases. As a Principal TIPM, Robotics Deployment you will be part of enabling a building-scale solution incorporating extensive automation in our journey to build the regionalized fulfillment network of tomorrow. You are responsible for managing New Product Introduction (NPI) Deployment Services committed to our AR customer(s). You ensure the successful delivery of a complete Customer Delivery Solution "package" at the service deliverable level and work with service owners across the entire Deployment organization to ensure requirements are met that lead to achieving commitments and exceeding customer expectations.
As the TIPM for Robotics Deployment you seek to maximize decision-making velocity by removing obstacles but recognize that maintaining reporting lines within functional disciplines is good for raising the bar within a discipline to achieve greater efficiency; you rely heavily on getting work done through others and you are a master of influencing others to meet deliverables. The Robotics Deployment STL works across service owners in Deployment to drive prioritization, maintain commitments, and manage all the associated cross-team communication. While the Robotics Deployment STL does not ultimately own headcount allocation by service, you are empowered to audit, evaluate, and escalate risk to the functional leader when headcount allocation is a driver of service delivery risk. Your role is critical to managing the total timing, overall risks/issues and dependencies, and scope changes to partner/dependent teams as required.
Key job responsibilities
As a Robotics Deployment STL your primary responsibilities are:
- Demonstrating ownership by acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all things Deployment related with your Robotics customer, partner, and stakeholder teams
- Coordinating with each Deployment team on service deliverables: Deployment Readiness (DR), Systems Integration (SI), Robotics Deployment Engineering (Int'l and NA RDE), Strategy & Operations (S&O), Infrastructure Readiness (IR) on clear definition of the Customer Delivery Solution (set of services) and the respective measures of delivery success
- Establishing a mechanism and cadence to manage total Customer Delivery Solution status by deployment service
- Managing escalations or misalignments when there are risks to delivering committed services with high quality; facilitating/leading tradeoff decisions with customers, stakeholders, and partner teams when there are conflicting priorities
- Working with Deployment teams to determine whether a decision is a one-way or two-way door. Managing necessary discussions with customer and partner teams to manage expectations, impacts, and risks, associated with said decision(s)
- Ensuring role clarity as it relates to the service delivery teams and escalating to functional leadership when there are misalignments that impact delivering on commitments
