Summary: Sandy Spring Friends School seeks experienced drivers to operate a school bus transporting children in a safe and courteous manner to and from school, and on special trips. Additional runs for field trips and summer hours may be available.

Qualifications include: A high school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform all of the duties of the position; and a valid Maryland driver’s license is a must. Essential Physical Requirements: Bus driving requires sitting for long periods of time; moderate bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting; using hands and feet to navigate controls; ability to drive after dark; and if necessary in an emergency, the ability to lift, push/pull, and carry children of various sizes. Also required is normal vision including distance, peripheral, and depth perception; normal visual color discrimination and normal hearing. It will also be necessary to navigate uneven pavement, slippery surfaces, and stairs.
