About the job:
Transform Business requests into application requirements and technical designs followed by ABAP development, debugging/testing, and deployment to production systems. Integratesoftware components or third party programs to SAP. Support 3rd party and other integrations to SAP when ABAP coding support is needed to either remove or rework SAP customizations in TIsEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Develop code using SAPs proprietary ABAP Programming language for TI SAP ERP installation, including developing custom applications, interfaces, andscreens to be used by various TI business units. Ensure SAP integration techniques (SAP Gateway; standard SAP web services) are properly used wherever possible when programming for TIs businesssolutions. Perform technical code reviews and use Solution Manager to document the programs and requirements of TI projects that are installed for business functions. Work with IT analysts to define test scenarios/cases to verify that ABAP changes work as expected and there are no adverse effects on other processes. Provide expert support to the team for testing any ABAP changes. Provide post- go-live support for ABAP changes whenever needed. Utilize in-depth understanding of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and how they are used in SAP to bring data from other programs to TIs SAP instance using APIs. Use API to access SAP Services for the purpose of extending solutions, integrating them with other solutions, or building new applications. Use advanced knowledge of TIscustomized SAP ECC (ERP Central Component) system and development platforms to build custom programs that allow TI to run the business using TIs specific business processes that are not in thestandard SAP code. Customize the SAP code to support numerous unique TI business process functions, including sales order management and, purchase order management. Use advanced knowledgeof SAP GTS (Global Trade System) system and development to support processes that enable TI to trade with Global partners around the world. Leverage the SAP GTS add-on to ensure compliance with the practices of the US Government. Customize the code in the GTS system to align TIs business needs and government laws in the countries with which TI does business. Ensure the SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) ERP-based standalone system is appropriately programmed to automate TIs trade processes and minimize the risk of non-compliance. Play a key role in sunsetting certain custom applications during the final sunset phase. Identify code to remove and other potentially impacted processes. Provide technical code reviews and use Solution Manager for documentation of custom code in our SAP system, including detailed functional and code specification documents that are used as a guide for the program that is developed. Work with IT analysts to define test scenarios/cases to ensure all remaining processes work as expected with no adverse effects. Support comprehensive testing of all remaining processes. Mentor new college graduates on learning how to program in ABAP (SAP) language in order to effectively work on TIs internally customized Enterprise Resource Planning engine.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in SAP ABAP development.
  • 5 years of experience to include: Developing code for SAP ECC, SAP GTS, and SAP Process Orchestration and APIs; Performing technical code reviews and testing; Documenting program requirements in Solution Manager; and Utilizing Charm for code deployment.
