SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SR MANAGER
The Software Development Sr Manager provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. The position shall use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers. This individual will be viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. His/her responsibilities include performing the following tasks:
+ Manages software development or engineering professionals and offers leadership, coaching, and training.
+ Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
+ Develops and administers schedule and performance requirements.
+ Developing enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features.
+ Providing expertise regarding the integration of applications to both internal and external partners.
+ Determining specifications, then plans, designs, and developing the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes (either individually or in concert with a project team).
+ Assisting in the most difficult support problems.
+ Developing programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse Understanding and consistently applying the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.
+ Researching and maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business Acting as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent.
**Education:** This position requires a bachelor's in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience. (Note: A Master's degree is preferred.)
**General Experience:** The proposed candidate must have at least seven (7) years of IT and business/industry work experience.
**Specialized Experience:** The proposed candidate must have at least five (5) years managing a medium to large team or department of multiple disciplines. Medium- to high-complexity. Must have at least five (5) years as a technical expert in an IT organization. This individual coaches and mentors the junior technical staff. The position will also provide technical input into the most complex and high impact IT decisions. This individual will be accountable for the most complex enterprise-wide applications and issues, translating highly complex concepts for peers and customers. Five (5) years of progressive experience working in the field of Advanced Traffic Management Systems / Emergency Traffic Management Systems development, design, and implementation. Experience in surface transportation systems is preferred. Recent hands-on experience must be within the last two years.

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards ( Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $65,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: 124,900.00 - 206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
