WHAT IS THE JOB?
As the Store Operations Associate in our Dallas store, you are the store's central nervous system, with a direct impact on our high customer service levels and growing sales by managing the accuracy, organization, and timely flow of all incoming and outgoing inventory. You will use critical thinking and creative solutions to troubleshoot, solve and remedy any inventory-related discrepancies. You will maintain our brand standards, identify ways to improve our operational processes, and continue to support the growth of both your store and all channels. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?
• Processing all incoming and outgoing products from a systematic standpoint:
  • Customer Merchandise Transfers and Direct Shipments
  • Current Product Replenishment/New Product Releases
  • Store-to-Store Product Reallocation
  • Inventory Transfer Verification
  • Backorder Management
  • Inventory Adjustments: MOS (Marked Out of Stock) RTV (Return to Vendor)

• Responsible for omni-channel order fulfillment from your store.
• Managing inventory integrity through weekly enterprise cycle counts, variances, negative quantity investigation, and inventory audits.
• Verifying daily returns.
• Managing and reporting stock levels (overages, deficits, end-of-season) to appropriate teams.
• Executing and leading efficient sale prep and end-of-sale processes.
• Planning, designing, and reorganizing stock room layout to improve storage efficiency and ease of access when inventory levels increase/decrease.

What you'll do here:

  • Leads recruiting efforts and manages the interviewing process of employees for assigned area. Manages leads from multiple lead sources.
  • Monitors associate performance to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors, or problems.
  • Reviews and approves work schedules and timecard approvals, monitor time tracker during all shifts, works with Human Resources on any employee relations issues or complaints and training.
  • Ensures all assigned locations meet company standards including but not limited to: office set up, buildouts and breakdown, technology set up, telecommunications, office supplies and facilities maintenance. Maintains relationships with property managers and landlords.
  • Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
  • Monitors GL & P&L performance and holds/voids/rejects, discount reports and productivity reports for assigned store group. Also responsible for meeting all office goals including, but not limited to revenue, cash control and tax return count in assigned area.

  • College Degree and/or equivalent related business experience.
  • Course of study in management or in tax preparation and/or accounting preferred.

The responsibilities of the team member will include:
  • Interaction with customers: receiving orders, processing sales and monies and managing customer issues.
  • Preparation of products.
  • Maintaining quality of product.
  • Monitoring all service equipment.

Since 1973, SPEC has strategically grown to thirty-six convenient branch locations in markets throughout the Midwest, the South, and the Southeastern regions.

The SPEC Inside Sales/Customer Service Associate Team is responsible for order placement, general sales information and product requirements, pricing, delivery coordination, and more. They are most often the customer's first point of contact.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Selling building materials to our customers from the customer service counter
  • Maintaining and growing existing customer base through prospecting, sales account development, quoting, and customer follow-up.
  • Sourcing special order items for our contractors.
  • Ensuring all customer sales orders are imputed complete and accurate.
  • Advising customers on inventory levels and pricing.
  • Cash application and reporting.
  • Answering the phone and directing calls.
  • Scheduling and answering questions regarding deliveries for customers.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum education required: GED or high school diploma.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Past history in a building materials-related industry.
  • Strong math skills.
