Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences for children in a preschool or public school setting. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom management, preparing instructional materials, and providing individualized support to students, especially those with special needs. The Teaching Assistant fosters a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, collaborates with teachers and staff, and contributes to the overall development and success of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Oversees the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the teacher.
Works with individual pupils or groups of pupils on special instructional projects.
Provides the teacher with information about pupils that will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.
Assists pupils in the use of available instructional resources.
Works closely with teachers, specialists, and other school staff to support student learning and development, sharing insights and strategies to address individual student needs.
Assists in preparing, organizing, and distributing educational materials, such as worksheets, art supplies, and educational games, to support lesson plans.
Helps maintain a positive and organized classroom environment by managing student behavior, implementing classroom rules, and supporting transitions between activities.
Maintains confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the school.
Follows directions given by the teacher or immediate supervisor.
Builds positive relationships based on respect for others. Maintains effective communication with peers, school district personnel, therapists, and families.
Performs other duties as assigned.
*A Bilingual Teaching Assistant- will assist with providing opportunities for students and parents to access content and information in their home language (including verbal and written translation).
Qualifications
The Teaching Assistant shall be at least 18 years of age.
A high school diploma is required.
At least 1 year experience in child care/development is required.
Must hold a valid Teaching Assistant Certification.
Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish).

USD $19.50 - USD $19.50 /Hr.

Responsibilities
The Special Education Teacher will provide individual or group educational instruction. Other major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: consultation with classroom teachers or other service providers, conducting initial evaluations, and formal/informal monitoring of a student's progress through daily log notes, quarterly reports, and annual review testing. This position serves children with various physical, behavioral, and developmental challenges ranging in age from birth to 21 years old.

Utilizes assessment tools to gather information to determine eligibility, goals, and support plans.
Delivers specialized individual and group instruction and adheres to mandated IEPs and ISFPs. Consults with other team members and therapists (OT, PT, SLP, etc.) to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to a student's education.
Assesses and documents each student's progress through formal and informal tests and measures.
Prepares annual review reports and progress summaries for each student in compliance with program due dates.
Provides parent and caregiver support and education.
Attends meetings when required, as it relates to service provision and support of the student.
Plans and prepares the learning environment with needed materials and supplies.
Implements the daily schedule through consistent daily and weekly lesson plans.
Follows the safety guidelines and directives from the school district.
Assists with the utilization of communication devices and assistive technology, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires a Master's degree from an accredited education program.
The Special Education Teacher must hold a current special education teacher certification and must meet the requirements of the New York State Department of Education.
The Special Education Teacher must be prepared to teach students with varying degrees of learning aptitudes such as, but not limited to learning disabilities, social/emotional disorders, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, or traumatic brain injury.
