Job Description
Technical Support Specialist US-West (SaaS B2B Finance Data)
We’re looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our Data Solutions team. Our team is split into two strands: Implementation and Support. The Implementation specialists work with new customers during onboarding to set up their data and integrations in Subscript, while the Support specialists take over once the customer is live and help them with day‑to‑day operations, rare issues and expanding use cases.
We just closed our Series A earlier this year – it’s a fun and empowering time to join the Subbie team!
Responsibilities- You’ll be the first point of contact for existing customers after they go live. Diagnose, reproduce & resolve issues and work with customers on technical questions, product configuration, data issues, back‑end tasks, custom reporting and anything else they might ask for support.
- Support customers on topics such as ARR metrics, invoices and accounting revenue, CRMs (e.g. Hubspot, Salesforce), general ledgers (e.g. Quickbooks, Xero, Netsuite), payment processors (e.g. Stripe) and spreadsheets. Develop the necessary knowledge to support customers from both a product and financial perspective.
- Collaborate closely with Implementation Specialists, Engineering and Product teams to triage issues, document patterns, improve the customer experience, internal and external documentation, and tooling.
- Help shape how Support evolves within Subscript—building reusable documentation, refining internal processes and scaling an excellent customer experience.
- Primarily cover US West hours, with flexibility to cover APAC hours.
- Tools you’ll work with daily:
- Front – triaging tickets, managing Slack threads, chasing updates and keeping customers informed.
- Github – filing and tracking bug tickets, UX improvements and feature requests.
- SQL – diagnosing issues and extracting custom data requests.
- Postman/APIs – fetching and exploring external data (e.g. Hubspot deals, Quickbooks invoices) that are ingested into Subscript.
- Internal configuration JSON files – inspecting and updating transformation rules for our ETL pipeline.
- Spreadsheets – transforming and cleaning client data for ingestion and validation.
- (Bonus) Python – occasional use of Colab notebooks for data fetching or transformation.
- Work closely with the whole company, including co‑founders Sidharth Kakkar and Michelle Lee.
- Help define what the Support role becomes as we grow; provide ideas and feedback.
- Support other team members and share insights—collaboration is key at Subscript.
- Asynchronous culture: no scheduled internal meetings; communication available anytime in documentation, Slack channels and video documentation.
- Customer‑facing positions require availability for live calls to customers worldwide during core US West hours, with flexibility to cover APAC.
- Remote work: work anywhere as long as core hours are maintained.
- Autonomous environment: get transparency on company goals and decide how to work toward them.
- Team events: board game nights and live off‑sites around the world (expenses paid).
- Simulated customer interaction over email with a short supporting video.
- SQL and spreadsheet exercise to showcase tools we need for support issues.
- Final call with the Support Lead: live role‑play with a customer issue and a short chat to discuss background, goals and working style.
- Kind, empathetic, and communicative—both externally with customers and internally with written documentation and recorded videos.
- Customer‑facing experience in a technical position.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, good spreadsheet skills, SQL know‑how, knowledge of B2B SaaS business models.
- Ability to work in the requested timezone.
- 1+ years relevant experience in a customer‑facing role.
- (Optional) Experience with general ledgers used in SaaS finance (Quickbooks, Xero, Netsuite), CRM software (Hubspot, Salesforce).
- Unlimited vacation.
- Health/dental/vision benefits in the USA.
- Company‑wide retreats multiple times per year, all expenses paid.
- Market‑rate compensation and benefits.
Referrals increase your chances of interviewing by 2x.
