Americold Internship Experience (AIE):

The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full time, paid internship that takes place over the summer term in various locations throughout the country. The internship opportunity will afford our interns to better understand of the supply chain industry, work on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the ability to collaborate with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

Explore the tech backbone of a global logistics network. As an IT/Information Security intern, you'll gain hands-on experience across IT and cybersecurity -from infrastructure and cloud services to network administration and data protection. Work alongside experts to see how technology supports secure, seamless operations in a 24/7 supply chain environment.

Areas of Focus:

Cybersecurity

You'll collaborate with the Information Security team and other IT departments to design and build metrics that support ongoing security operations. Key responsibilities include performing security administration tasks such as monitoring and supporting various security tools, conducting security reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, and contributing to governance initiatives. You'll emphasize both technical and analytical skills to strengthen Americold's security posture through proactive support and continuous improvement.

Network Administration

You'll support Americold's Network Operations team by assisting with bandwidth utilization reporting, critical switch log reviews, SD-WAN deployment, and planning for circuit upgrades. It also involves evaluating the current alerting strategy within the company's monitoring system. Collaboration with both the Network Operations and Hosting teams is key, particularly in reviewing network documentation and tracking IP configurations across the physical network infrastructure. You'll require a strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to optimizing network performance and reliability.

Data Science

You'll collaborate with data engineering and business teams to gather requirements and develop predictive planning and forecasting tools. It includes building production-ready prototypes using historical operational data to enhance appointment scheduling and labor forecasting accuracy. Responsibilities also include extracting and transforming data from AWS Redshift and Oracle databases using SQL and Python tools, developing time series or machine learning models, and implementing data validation and anomaly detection across multi-source pipelines. You'll summarize insights through reports, dashboards, or Jupyter notebooks and presenting actionable recommendations to both technical and operational stakeholders. Working in an Agile environment, the position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and the application of analytical rigor to solve complex business challenges.

You'll gains hands-on experience with modern technologies such as Java, React, DocumentDB, AWS, PL/SQL, and web-based frameworks that support digital transformation. What Experience You Need:

Job Description:

At Regions, the Information Technology Project Manager independently manages projects of medium scale that are significant in scope. Ensures projects remain on time/within budget, certifies project goals and success markers are met. This position collaborates with project teams, functional owners, and project sponsors supporting and executing the full project life cycle to achieve specific business outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Demonstrates through application an understanding of the project management process to assigned roles and tasks

• Manages technology projects for various business groups throughout the Enterprise related but not limited to network upgrades, hardware installations, software and app development, data management to include data integration and transformation as well as large scale system replacements and business initiatives

• Develops and manages overall technology project plans to ensure work is assigned and completed on time

• Supports other project managers and associated delivery work on projects of varying scale

• Works independently to draft project deliverables for review with other Project Managers

• Applies the project management process, tools, and templates to manage medium scale projects

• Maintains ownership during all phases of a project to ensure projects are executed according to plans

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly technical Manager of Information Technology (IT) to lead and support all aspects of our IT operations in a fast-paced telecommunications environment. This individual will oversee internal IT support (Helpdesk), corporate infrastructure (on-prem and cloud), endpoint management, network security, and ensure high system availability and performance across a globally distributed workforce.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical knowledge and the ability to manage complex IT systems, vendors, and a team of technical support professionals.

Key Responsibilities

IT Operations & Helpdesk Leadership

• Lead the internal IT Helpdesk team, ensuring timely support for hardware, software, connectivity, and access issues across the organization.

• Manage service level agreements (SLAs), incident response, and escalations.

• Implement and continuously optimize ITIL-based processes (incident, change, asset, and configuration management).

Infrastructure & Systems Management

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure, including:

• Servers (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)

• Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, Office 365/Azure AD

• Corporate firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs

• Cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid environments

• Maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with cybersecurity best practices (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).

• Lead annual compliance audits.

• Manage endpoint protection, MDM, MFA, and vulnerability management.

• Work closely with 3rd party consultants  and internal  engineering teams to secure internal networks and customer-facing services.

Telecom IT Environment Support

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support telecom-specific systems (e.g., OSS/BSS platforms, SIP/VoIP infrastructure, NMS/EMS tools).

• Maintain uptime and support for telecom-related applications, test labs, and secure provisioning tools.

Team & Vendor Management

• Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT support and infrastructure team.

• Manage IT budgets, procurement, licensing, and vendor relationships.

• Coordinate third-party support contracts and service providers.

• Bring hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and system architecture.

• Possess proven abilities to research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies.

Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• 8+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, with at least 3 years in a management or team lead role.

• Expertise in managing:

• Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Group Policies

• Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD

• Firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto), switching/routing, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions

• Virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V), backup platforms (Veeam, Commvault), and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS)

• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SNMP, etc.)

• Experience with helpdesk tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk) and asset management systems.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a telecom or managed services provider (MSP) environment.

• Familiarity with carrier-grade hardware/software tools (e.g., SBCs, VoIP/SIP systems, BGP configurations).

• Knowledge of PCI, GDPR, and telecom regulatory compliance requirements.
