PCG is hiring a Director with focus on delivering management consulting services and developing new business in the California State Government market. This includes developing partner relationships, identifying opportunities, fostering strong client relationships, and developing proposals that meet client needs.
The Director will collaborate with senior client executives to implement or advise on large-scale software solutions within Public Sector State Government environments. The role requires a general understanding of technology and candidate should also be versed in big data, coding, project management, technical writing, and cloud services.
The Director will manage a team of resources in addition to recruiting, hiring, and developing resources to support the Business Unit and the Practice Area. The Director is responsible for ensuring the team meets financial and organizational targets while building the comradery necessary to navigate the fast-paced world of management consulting.
In Summary, this position requires the following key competencies:
**- Business Development** - Client management and sales acumen to grow existing projects and establish new projects. Build new markets that create business and financial value. Lead proposal responses for RF(x)'s.

**Compensation:**
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. **Qualifications:**
- Must be based in the Southeast region of the US with a preference of NC or SC
- At least 10 years of experience in management consulting, focused on technology.
- 6+ years of experience developing, bidding, and winning public sector management consulting services with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
- 6+ years of experience providing a combination of the following State Government services: planning, procurement, project management, quality assurance (QA) or Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), implementation or System Integration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with a minimum Fiscal Year's book value of $1-2M.
- Proven ability to hire, develop, and manage a team of people.
- Strong leadership interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter, enthusiastic, and have political savvy to accomplish objectives while maintaining a likable presence.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University.

The AVP - Global Head of Investment Management Technology will be accountable for shaping and driving a forward-looking global technology investment management strategy that champions engineering excellence, agility, and innovation in close partnership with the Chief Information Officer, investment and operations professionals, and business stakeholders. This leader will oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions that enable and enhance front, middle, and back-office investment technologies across public and private strategies.
As the organization continues on an ambitious growth trajectory, this role is mission-critical to scaling technology capabilities that fuel expansion, innovation, and competitive advantage. This leader will play a central role in advancing the firm's digital transformation, strengthening its risk posture, and enabling faster, data-driven decision-making. By improving operational efficiency and aligning technology with strategic priorities, the AVP will directly contribute to the firm's growth and profitability objectives.
This leader will be responsible for fostering a high-performance culture, driving strategic alignment, and enabling seamless collaboration across geographies and time zones to deliver impactful, scalable solutions.
+ Shape and execute a forward-looking global investment management technology strategy in alignment with the firm's investment objectives that champions engineering excellence, agility, and innovation, supporting strategic growth and profitability goals of Principal AM.
+ Advance the firm's digital capabilities, enhancing its risk posture, and accelerating decision-making, operational efficiency, and speed to market.
+ Lead and evolve the global technology footprint to ensure the delivery of innovative, timely, and high-quality solutions that support Principal AM's strategic objectives. This includes comprehensive oversight of front, middle, and back-office investment management technologies across public and private strategies, inclusive of supporting data technology.
+ Play a key role in shaping Principal's technology vision and guiding the strategic direction of the asset management business by actively participating in the Principal AM Technology leadership team. Collaborate with a range of governance and advisory groups, including the 40-Act Mutual Fund Board, committees, councils, and working groups. Foster strong relationships and contribute meaningfully to strategic discussions to ensure alignment and drive collaboration. Partner closely with business leaders and peers across the organization to identify opportunities, address challenges, prioritize initiatives, and enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, and overall value delivery.
+ Foster active engagement and collaboration with IT leaders across the broader organization, ensuring alignment, shared strategic goals, and effective representation of enterprise needs to Principal AM and of Principal AM needs to the enterprise.
+ Speak at and participate in industry events to share insights and strengthen Principal's presence in the market. Proactively cultivate and maintain relationships with industry contacts to ensure a continuous exchange of external perspectives, thereby enhancing Principal's brand awareness and positioning within the asset management landscape.

**Who You Are**
+ You have a Bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) or equivalent experience, plus 15 years or more of relevant experience; prefer 10 years or more of leadership experience
+ Excellent leadership, problem solving, analytical, and decision making skills are required
+ You have the ability to craft and articulate a compelling investment technology vision that aligns with both business objectives.
+ You bring a strategic approach with a strong inclination to leverage data and insights to inform decisions and rally stakeholders around shared goals.
+ You are willing and able to travel regularly, primarily to corporate headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, with occasional international travel to build strategic alignment with global partners and teams.
**Skills That Will Help You Stand Out**
+ Deep understanding of the asset management industry, including financial, operational, and system-related aspects across both public and private asset classes. Experience navigating global jurisdictions and regulatory environments is highly valued.
+ Experience working with regulatory officials and compliance professionals
+ Proven ability to operate effectively in a global context, with firsthand experience navigating regional and cultural nuances. accustomed to international travel, and regular visits to global headquarters.
**Salary Range Information**
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

**Time Off Program**
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
