Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 3, SG-23, the Information Technology Specialist 2, SG-18, will be a member of the Desktop Support Regional team in the IT Client Services section, which is responsible for customer support, desktop and software support, asset inventory tracking and participating in enterprise-wide software and hardware initiatives. This position will be based out of the OAG's Buffalo office, but travel to other regional offices may be required at times.
DUTIES:
• Provide timely second-level hardware and software support to agency employees both at the Albany OAG offices and the upstate regional offices.
• Support all aspects of the hardware device lifecycle management.
• Participate in the rollout of agency-wide hardware/software initiatives.
• Maintain tickets in the ServiceNow ticket tracking database. Update calls with actions and resolutions as necessary.
• Assist with asset inventory tracking, including office site visits, reviewing Warehouse stock and updating the asset database information.
• Conduct hardware and application testing and troubleshooting as needed.
• Develop technical user and IT documentation.
• Contribute to the Client Services Intranet ServiceNow Knowledge Base content.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
Employees appointed via the NY HELPS program are restricted for promotional appointment until their position is covered-in to the competitive class by the New York State Civil Service Commission (CSC), or they otherwise obtain permanent competitive status. The CSC has recently covered-in employees who were appointed via NY HELPS on a permanent or contingent permanent basis between June 26, 2024, and June 11, 2025. Competitive Minimum Qualifications:
• You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, eligible under the 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 52.6 and/or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

- Perform basic to moderately complex construction drawings and specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate surgical technologies to provide technical equipment guidance as needed to surgeons and staff before and during surgery
- Perform preoperative checklists, sterilization, equipment calibrations, and complete necessary documentation

Your Role With Us
We’re seeking a Head of Technology to lead the strategy, execution, and scaling of RouteGenie’s platform. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will oversee infrastructure modernization, total platform feature development, security and compliance, and AI-driven innovation, while guiding a talented global engineering team.
This role calls for a balance of technical depth and curiosity with business savvy leadership. The ideal candidate is hands-on enough to dive deep when needed, yet strategic enough to set direction, inspire teams, and make decisive calls that keep the technology ahead of the business curve.
The role may be based in Buffalo, NY (preferred) or in a nearby market, and we are open to remote candidates with the flexibility to travel up to 50% to RouteGenie’s Buffalo headquarters, customer onsite visits, and other company functions.
Compensation for this role ranges between $180,000-$220,000 base salary, based on factors such as experience, seniority, and geography, plus an annual bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Engineering, DevOps, and technology delivery teams across the U.S., Europe, Ukraine, and Spain, optimizing team structure and building leadership capabilities.
- Lead the modernization of RouteGenie’s platform to ensure scalability, security, and long-term resilience.
- Drive adoption of modern technologies, including AI and automation, to improve both customer-facing features and internal development practices.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders in Product, Implementation, Marketing, and Customer Success to align technology delivery with business priorities.
- Strengthen RouteGenie’s security posture and compliance with SOC2 and HIPAA requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration across the engineering organization.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications
- 8+ years in software engineering leadership.
- Proven success modernizing infrastructure and scaling SaaS platforms.
- Strong technical foundation with recent hands-on experience in cloud architecture (AWS required), backend, or DevOps.
- Familiarity with embedding compliance and security frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA).
- Experience leading distributed technical teams.

- Background in healthcare SaaS, logistics, or fleet management technology.
