Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Technology Transition Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide expert acquisition and technology transition support under the USG Military contract. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven record of transitioning advanced technologies into fielded solutions. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting capability planning, acquisition lifecycle documentation, risk management, program integration, and innovation pipeline execution for emerging AF systems.


Key Responsibilities:


Acquisition Planning and Execution:

· Develop, review, and manage pre- and post-award acquisition documentation.

· Support program milestone planning (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR).

· Analyze contracting requirements and contribute to strategy development.

· Maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and perform EVM and schedule analysis.


Program Analysis and Reporting:

· Evaluate program performance, cost, and schedule risks.

· Conduct efficiency studies and acquisition strategy assessments.

· Prepare acquisition plans and documentation aligned with DoD standards.

· Support DAES, SARs, MARs, and SOCCER reporting.


Requirements and Capability Development:

· Support JCIDS processes and related documentation (CDD, CPD, CONOPS).

· Facilitate capability planning events such as I-SUMMITs, CRRAs, and HPTs.

· Ensure interoperability and alignment of requirements across systems.


Technology Transition Support:

· Support the SBIR and RIF programs, ATDs, and advanced innovation initiatives.

· Apply systems engineering principles to streamline transition execution.

· Identify integration challenges and align efforts across platforms.

· Lead planning for rapid prototyping and early-stage requirement analysis.

· Coordinate technology insertion efforts across acquisition phases and platforms.


Document Management:

· Draft, edit, and maintain DIDs, CDRLs, and acquisition deliverables.

· Manage AF Form 1067 proposal processes from intake through archive.

· Ensure documentation complies with AFLCMC, AFMC, and DoD policy.


Stakeholder Engagement & Mission Partner Coordination:

· Coordinate with MAJCOMs, Air Staff, test agencies, and external stakeholders.

· Support reviews, IPTs, readiness exercises, and working groups.

· Provide briefings and decision-ready analysis to senior leadership.

· Active Secret Clearance at time of hire; eligible for Top Secret upgrade.

· U.S. Citizenship required.


Education & Experience (one of the following):

· Master’s degree and 15 years of experience (5 years within DoD).

· Bachelor’s degree and 18 years of experience (5 years within DoD).

Technical Experience (10+ years in at least 6 of the following areas):

· Development planning and technology transition strategy

Job Title: Information Technology (IT) Engineer Intern Reports to: Principal Scientist

FLSA Status: Part-Time (Non-Exempt) Department: IT




Position Objective:


  • To assist in administrating, maintaining, and enhancing all aspects of the information (IT) technology utilized at AO, with minimal intrusion to other co-workers
Essential Functions:


  • Technically set-up and support information systems within the organization and interface with offsite vendors
  • Maintain all software and hardware currently used within the company and possess the ability to quickly assimilate and understand other software as needed
  • Maintain an orderly and accessible inventory of hardware and software as well as track licenses and renewal updates as needed
  • Diagnose and repair computer hardware problems, including but not limited to PCs, printers, laptops, smartphones, and other electronic devices
  • Develop and follow protocols for purchase of hardware and software to maintain rigorous compliance with security requirements
  • Participate in training sessions and lead training sessions as needed to acquaint others with new and/or current software and hardware
  • Plan for the future IT needs of the company, including technologies, systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure accuracy and follow documentation procedures for all work; maintain notebook of daily activities and provide weekly report of work
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a program related to the field of information technology with a superior academic record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows-related platform technical support
  • Working knowledge of computer networks
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for technical support if needed
  • Attention to detail and effective time and schedule management skills
  • Effective organizing, planning, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt within a small team to support evolving customer requirements
  • Ability to execute instructions and communication in written, oral, and diagram form
  • Demonstrated strong writing, fact-gathering, and analytical skills
  • Strong ethical morale
  • Basic computer and software skills including but not necessarily limited to Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word, and Power Point)
Preferred Qualifications:


  • College sophomore or junior with a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.5 or higher
  • One-year of related experience and/or training
  • Experience with Linux technical support
  • Familiarity of software development lifecycles and revision control practices
Citizenship/Security Clearance Requirements:


  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • May be required to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance
About Our Internships:


  • Hours: The internship is a part-time, year-round position that requires a minimum of sixteen hours per week of work. The hours are flexible and they can change from one semester to another based on the students class schedule. The weekly hours can be adjusted to balance for the examinations, tests and project submissions.

Position Overview

The Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) is an innovative, open-source military simulation framework used extensively by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and related communities. Managed by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), AFSIM supports scenario creation, analytical work, and virtual wargaming, benefiting from a collaborative user community across the military, government, industry, academia, and international partners. To enhance AFSIM's growth, the Department of the Air Force (DAF) is establishing a Model Management Office (MMO).

In this cutting-edge new MMO the Technology Transfer Specialist shall advise or assist in technology transition or transfer of MMO products and services through the appropriate Office of Research and Technology Applications (ORTA) and its officers.

Essential Job Function

Technology Transfer Strategy

  • Advise or assist in formulating and executing effective technology transition or transfer strategies tailored for MMO products and services
  • Assessing or evaluating product market viability, commercialization opportunities, foreign releasability, and corresponding Intellectual Property (IP) management plans

Agreement Management

  • Coordinate U.S. Government, U.S. Industry, and foreign government requests for technology transfer of MMO products and services through applicable technology transfer agreements and authorities
  • Advise or assist in the execution of specialized agreements for instance, agreements that govern the use of MMO products or services in derivative works

Export Control and Compliance

  • Coordinate U.S. Industry requests for technology transfer or export license and articulate MMO positions regarding the safeguarding of critical MS&A technologies in accordance with national policy

Security Cooperation

  • Advise or assist in planning, directing, coordinating, and managing international security cooperation programs such as The Technical Cooperation Program (TTCP)
  • Advise or assist in the development of new agreements that concern the transfer of MMO products and services to international partners 
 Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in technology transfer, commercialization, or intellectual property management, preferably within a government or military context

Skills and Competencies

  • Technology transfer strategy: Proficiency in developing and executing strategies for technology transition and commercialization
  • Agreement management: Experience in managing technology transfer agreements, including U.S. and international collaborations
  • Export control and compliance: Knowledge of export regulations and licensing requirements for technology transfer
  • Security cooperation: Familiarity with international security cooperation programs and agreements

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficiency in intellectual property management systems and tools
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, especially for documentation and reporting

Additional Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • US Citizen 
 Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) or similar certification in technology transfer and intellectual property is highly desirable
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with ORTA: Familiarity with the Office of Research and Technology Applications and its processes
  • International experience: Experience in managing international technology transfer and security cooperation agreements
  • Advanced strategic planning: Skills in assessing market viability and commercialization opportunities
