Sr. Technology Advisor, Technology, KBR Technical Services, Inc., Houston, TX:
Position KBR's selected catalysts with customers and conduct the negotiations of price, guarantees, and catalyst contracts. Identify new business opportunities and the enhancement of existing customer relationships, to improve market share and profitability. Establish appropriate collection, analysis and interpretation of data and information as it relates to competitive analysis, market intelligence, trends and benchmarking activities. Evaluate requests for proposal, prepare and present techno commercial packages to develop and improve new and existing customer relationships and support regional sales with respect to catalyst sales. Work with KBR technology licensing technical and operational team to assist with technical troubleshooting, using partners for consultation and implementing modeling scenarios and capabilities. Technically qualify and approve catalyst proposals from suppliers for use with KBR's technologies. Maintain relationships with licensees, customers, potential clients, engineering companies, and internal and external business associates to maintain existing and foster new business activities. Visit licensee and customer plants, head offices, and other technical facilities. Work with outside organizations including, licensees, producers, engineering, and catalyst companies to enhance commercial effectiveness and results.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, and 12 years of progressive, post- baccalaureate related work experience in any combination of the ammonia, methanol, refining, or petrochemical industry. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field and 10 years of negotiations and proposal experience in any combination of the ammonia, methanol, refining, or petrochemical industry.
Of the required experience, must have 8 years of catalyst sales and business development experience in the ammonia, methanol, or syngas industry, which must include account management, technology interface and catalyst services.
Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in the following:
+ Supply and technical service agreement negotiations; and
+ Ammonia or Methanol Production.
Domestic travel required up to 5% and international travel required up to 30% for sales and purchasing negotiations, vendor audits, conferences, and client site visits. Travel may be required on short (less than 2 weeks) notice.

The opportunity
The opportunity is for a Subsea Technology Lead who will act as technical expert leading the subsea technology development across both physical and digital technologies including activities such as: research, benchmarking, field trials, technology road mapping and lifecycles, proof of technology, proof of concept and proof of value.
Accountabilities
- Identification of business opportunities to accelerate subsea technologies and value through the innovation funnel.
- Interface and align priorities with stakeholders across Projects, Production, Subsurface and Wells through a strong interface with the Subsea organization within bp solutions
- Chair the subsea technical committee and propose monthly sprint priorities
- Propose scope for subsea technology budget and manage priorities through leadership of the subsea futures squad
- e-Subsea program delivery of deployable Technology Readiness Level TRL 5 technology
- Co-chair the Marine Autonomy Working Group (MAWG) and act as an advocate of low cost subsea and marine autonomy.
- Lead and support external collaboration agreements with service and equipment providers, consortia, partners, and academics.
- For subsea technology, lead management of 1) commercial strategy, 2) technology strategy, 3) intellectual asset management strategy and communications / external publications.
- Provide coaching and assurance (i.e. ensuring alignment with relevant practices and standards and that work is technically correct)
- Provide subsea technology support and insight into GCD through participation in the subsea front-end squad
Additional Relevant Skillsets
- Advance the TRL of Digital Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) and enabling technologies to achieve full deployment of distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) in all future subsea wells.
- Work with C&IAM SMEs, P&O SMEs responsible for lower Technical Readiness Level (TRL) subsea and fiber optic technologies.
Experience / Capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific or engineering subject area (ideally with a high numeracy level)
- Strong background and delivery in a recognized industry domain subject area (e.g. subsea, projects, etc.)
- Strong knowledge across the full extent of subsea facilities with awareness of key areas of technology opportunity
- Broad knowledge and experience of subsea technology focus areas, including: all electric Subsea Production System (SPS), subsea processing, all electric wells and marine autonomous systems

- Implement and optimize ITIL-based processes including incident, change, asset, and configuration management.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise IT infrastructure including:
- Windows/Linux servers, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, Office 365/Azure AD
- Corporate firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices such as NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
- Lead annual compliance audits and manage endpoint protection, MDM, MFA, and vulnerability management.
- Collaborate with third-party consultants and internal teams to secure networks and services.
Telecom IT Environment Support
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to support telecom-specific systems and maintain uptime for telecom-related applications.
Team & Vendor Management
- Hire, mentor, and build a high-performing IT support team.
- Oversee IT budgets, procurement, licensing, and vendor relationships.
- Coordinate third-party support contracts effectively.
- Utilize hands-on experience for troubleshooting hardware and optimizing system architecture.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies to support business growth.
Qualifications
Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in IT operations with at least 3 in a managerial role.
- Expertise in:
- Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Group Policies
- Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD
- Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto), switching/routing, SD-WAN, and VPN solutions
- Virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V), backup platforms (Veeam, Commvault), and cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS)
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SNMP, etc.) and helpdesk tools (ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a telecom or managed services provider environment.
- Familiarity with carrier-grade hardware/software tools and telecom regulatory compliance.
