POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Wakefield Public Schools Technology Department is looking for an hourly Information
Technology Support Specialist in support of our help desk. The Information Technology
Support Specialist will provide first-tier IT phone support and troubleshooting for the 8
locations of the Wakefield Public Schools (PreK-POST) to include:

- Support for the use of technology in and out of the classroom for teaching and learning
Windows and Google account and group management
- PC/Mac application and hardware technical support for staff
- Chromebook hardware and software support for student and staff devices
- Google Apps for Education support
- Support for other online services
- Printing & copying support
- Classroom AV system support
- Acts as an escalation point for the building-based IT support personnel
- WPS uses a self-service ticketing system to track our service requests.

- Some after-hours work may be required to support special events or to complete projects.
- Qualified candidates must have demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and
troubleshooting skills.

- Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of education preferred, and a minimum of 2 years experience as an information technology support professional.

- Successful candidates will be knowledgeable in the various areas of support to adequately support the district.

- Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs and be flexible with duties and schedule to get the work done that needs to be done as a member of a small team. Should be comfortable on a ladder.

- Must be able to reliably report to work at 730am during the school year. The start time for this role is not flexible.

BASIC PURPOSE:

Serves as technical Operational Technology (OT) SCADA network manager by developing, configuring, implementing and supporting the systems used by the SCADA team.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general supervision of the Senior Program Manager, SCADA East Engineering.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Supervises SCADA Monitoring & Control Engineers, Project Managers, and Project Engineers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves a liaison to contracted vendors for assigned OT network products and reviews maintenance contracts.
  • Maintains current knowledge of OT cybersecurity frameworks as outlined by ISA, CIS, and NIST.
  • Proactively manages OT network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Reviews security policies and procedures, analyzes system logs for threats and makes recommendations to mitigate emerging security risks.
  • Collaborates with Director, Security and staff on IT and SCADA security issues.

  • Advises Senior Program Manager, SCADA East Engineering and Senior Program Manager, SCADA West on evaluating and recommending technical solutions and software.
  • Documents operating procedures to conform to MWRA standards and SCADA standards. Contributes to the development and updating of the SCADA standard as technologies change.
  • Plans and leads implementation of solutions for OT/SCADA networking including LAN, WAN, and radio communication.
  • Schedules upgrades and implements solutions to maximize OT network performance to ensure operational coverage.
  • Creates and maintains detailed drawings of the logical network to include hardware and cabling.
  • Setup and configures complex switching and routing environment for the SCADA department OT Network.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions of operating systems, network hardware and software, and outages as well as network problems.
  • Recommends appropriate tools required to measure OT network performance and capacity. Conducts Network monitoring and testing
  • Provides visual interface of network connection status and alerts for halted communication paths.
  • Supports and maintains backup solution for assigned systems and optimizes the available resources through management of backup jobs, bandwidth and hardware devices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field; and
  • At least seven (7) years of experience implementing and maintaining a large-scale enterprise network environment is required; OT /SCADA network experience preferred, or
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical knowledge of and demonstrated experience with a large network (LANS, WANS and VLAN), network devices Network Operating System ( Microsoft Windows server and Linux), routing protocols (including BGP, EIGRP and OSPF); DNS; DHCP HP Hardware products/technologies (such as RAID, SANS, NAS, and fiber channel devices).
  • Proficiency in Virus Protection products and management solutions (McAfee or similar products); Patch management solutions (Ivanti ISec or similar product); Network Management products); and Enterprise Backup Solutions and Storage system administration and vSphere ESX/ESXi.
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP, CIP, Modbus, OPC and Cisco IOS is preferred.
  • Experience with microwave and other radio technologies preferred
  • Ability to diagnose effectively and interpret problems on a variety network devices.
  • Excellent technical project management, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

A valid Class D Operator's License.

Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy GO-AI data solutions that are high quality (e.g., secure, testable, maintainable, low-defects, efficient, well documented etc.) and incorporate best practices

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, and/or NodeJS
- Have a solid understanding of data design approaches and how to best use them
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or relevant field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
- Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, FireHose, Lambda, IAM roles and permissions, Athena, RDS, DynamoDB, and/or AWS Elastic Search
- Experience with SQL
- Experience writing and/or using REST APIs
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams developing artificial intelligence and/or robotic solutions

GO-AI's Technology Team is a cross-functional team of Software Developers, Technical Program Managers, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence Engineers who are responsible for the technical strategy and delivery for GO-AI.
Key job responsibilities
- Help define GO-AI's technology portfolio.
- Work with GO-AI's Software Team to define and deliver GO-AI's software feature roadmap.
- Identify any internal or external tooling needed, and manage make verses buy decisions.
- Manage and lead outsourced technical service providers.
- Engage with technology program customers to understand their GO-AI needs, and lead these ongoing customer relationships.
- Work with DE's and BIE's to build GO-AI performance metrics and dashboards for programs based on their lifecycle phase (e.g. early research through KTLO transition).
- Ensure GO-AI has successful integrations with the right tooling to support the programs.
- With efforts from developers, help technology program customers understand the "tipping point" where their technology is mature enough to deploy to the Amazon Fulfillment Network with support from GO-AI real-time HITL annotation support.
- Work with GO-AI's Operations team to ensure resources are available to annotate data per customer needs.
- Work with GO-AI's Experiments team to assist new customers the team identifies via Go-Kit experimentation and analysis.
