Maxar is seeking an experienced System Administrator with familiarity with implementing and maintaining CMMC security controls and procedures to contribute to an agile and fast-paced software development team environment in support of our USG customer's national security mission. Principal Responsibilities- Maintain both on-prem and AWS cloud server hardware, virtual hosts and network equipment in a laboratory environment including VMs, DevOps applications, and container orchestration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and application configuration issues.
- Implement and maintain CMMC security controls, update asset lists and configuration tracking and contribute to internal Change Review Board meetings.
- Collaborate with Software, DevOps and Test engineers to develop and implement iterative operational improvements.
- Test and implement new system security configurations and architecture-based controls as needed.
- Provide subject matter expert reach-back support for production systems at customer sites.
- Communicate with multidisciplinary team and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.
- Setting up, taking down, troubleshooting and maintaining tactical antenna hardware.
- 5-10 years of technical experience maintaining information system hardware and applications in an environment with strict security compliance standards (for example, CMMC, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, PCI or HIPAA).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes software administration
- Experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization software
- Experience with Active Directory domain controllers in a mixed Windows and Linux/Unix environment
- Experience with Linux administration (especially RedHat, Ubuntu)
- Communicates effectively with a team both verbally and in writing
- Willingness to work onsite 60% or more as needs dictate
- Associate's degree or higher in a Computer Science / Information Technology, Mathematics or Engineering field from an accredited college or university OR active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent or higher certification
- Can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with satellite ground station information systems used by the intelligence community, geospatial context, and/or big data analytics
- Familiarity with common industry software tools and common IT and software development concepts and best practices (GitLab, Jira)
