Responsibilities Include:
+ Serves as System Administrator
+ Exhibits proficiency in vulnerability assessment, OS & software upgrades, patching, and maintenance
+ Provides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support
+ Supports building, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades

Required Skills and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical major, such as engineering or computer science, and at least 10 years of system administration experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years of experience in Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
+ At least 4 years of experience as a System Administrator
+ At least 2 years of experience as a System Administrator in classified environments.
+ Expertise in managing networks to comply with an IT Security Plan including management of isolated network equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, DNS)
+ Expertise in IT Management of Linux (Ubuntu, Oracle Linux 8), Mac OS, and Windows systems
+ Experience with automation using scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, or Python.
+ Demonstratable skills in analyzing and correcting application and network anomalies.
+ Knowledge of VMware, provisioning VMs, virtual storage, and virtual networking resources with ability to automate many simple tasks.
+ Demonstrated ability and commitment to share knowledge via written articles and technical talks with immediate and peer teams.

Basic Compensation:
+ $141,300 - $212,600 Annual
This range is for the Maryland area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. **Qualifications**

**Position Responsibilities** :
+ Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, VMs, networks, and data storage solutions.
+ Lead and mentor the IT systems team, assigning tasks, ensuring adherence to best practices, and fostering professional development.
+ Provide advanced technical support and guidance for system-related issues, ensuring high performance, security, and availability of IT systems.
+ Coordinate and manage IT projects, including system upgrades, network improvements, and integration of new technologies, ensuring projects are delivered on time.

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)** :

+ 5+ years' experience in **troubleshooting** complex **network** problems.
+ 5+ years' experience in communicating with customer representatives in a variety of forums, in both written and spoken form, regarding technical subjects.
**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)** :
+ Extensive experience with both **RedHat** Linux and Microsoft **Windows** servers, including **instal** lation, **config** uration, **admin** istration, and **troubleshooting** .
+ Proven ability to manage, optimize, and secure server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
+ Familiar with advanced features such as **virtualization** , **automation** , and **patch** management across both platforms, and capable of integrating these systems into a cohesive IT infrastructure to support organizational needs
+ Extensive experience in following Defense Information Systems Agency ( **DISA** ) standards, including the Security Technical Implementation Guides ( **STIGs** ), to ensure IT devices are properly configured and secured.
+ Skilled in hardening systems across various platforms by applying STIGs to mitigate vulnerabilities and comply with **military** and federal **cybersecurity** requirements.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS), seeks a **System Administrator** (Shift Work) to join our Mission Operations team in Herndon, VA **.** Our team focuses on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio areas which design, build, test, deploy, operate, and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers.
This position is part of a small team of shift-work rotational schedule high caliber System Administrators who perform several system administration tasks, sometimes under high pressure and tight deadlines, to include **infrastructure administration** , **information security** support and configurations, software and **OS support** , and follows **configuration change control** / **configuration change management** processes. You will create new solutions to hard technical problems and provide system support using best practices with modern and innovative tooling. This position requires comfort in a high-paced environment and interfacing with a small group of end users.
**Responsibilities includes:**
+ Support a small group of end users who use our system and several other systems that we support.
+ Monitor system performance and **troubleshoot** issues, sometimes under time pressure.
+ Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and document proposed optimizations to improve overall system efficiency and responsiveness.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
+ Interface with customer and represent the entire System Admin Team during high impact operations.
**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):**
+ A current Full Scope Polygraph (FSP).
+ Experience in **System Administration** (i.e. **Linux** / **Unix** or **Windows** platforms).

+ Experience with **VDI** infrastructure, monitoring infrastructure, securing infrastructure.
+ Experience with documenting technical details in **Confluence** and task tracking in **Jira**
+ Cloud, **INFOSEC** , or any recent IT certifications.
+ Previous shift-work experience.
