Insight Global is looking for a systems administrator to join the team of a large Semiconductor manufacturing firm. The primary responsibility of this individual is to support the Chandler characterization lab and the equipment that is connected to the network. This role focuses on deploying and maintaining software on both Linux and Windows systems, with a strong emphasis on RedHat Linux. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in system administration, preferably within a semiconductor or test engineering environment. A solid understanding of networking, license server polling, and account types (networked, local, mounted) is essential. The candidate should be self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of working across diverse teams, including IT and engineering groups. Onsite presence is required at least once per week initially, with a two-week full-time onsite orientation. While the role is primarily local, occasional support for remote teams in San Jose, Irvine, and Italy may be needed.
Additional responsibilities include installing and updating software, coordinating with vendors and test engineers, performing sanity checks, and handing off systems for validation. This individual will also troubleshoot network issues, managing IP configurations, moving equipment between subnets, and maintaining system performance through patches and cron jobs.
