**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE
Administers and promotes the University's intellectual property programs, including assurance of University compliance with regulations, disposition of technology disclosures, and providing marketing and management support for technology transfer activities. Negotiates and maintains license agreements. Manages activities related to the patent application filing and maintenance process.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Develops and implements strategies for the commercialization of University innovations.
+ Markets University technology.
+ Identifies potential licensees and negotiates licensing agreements that align with the University's mission and financial goals.
+ Monitors compliance with licensing agreements and manages ongoing relationships with licensees to ensure the successful commercialization of technologies.
+ Negotiates and maintains license agreements.
+ Maintains an organized and up-to-date IP portfolio, including tracking patent applications, issued patents, and other relevant documentation.
+ Manages activities related to the patent application filing and maintenance process.
+ Maintains the administrative and financial systems support to program.
+ Prepares detailed reports on licensing activities, technology transfer outcomes, and financial performance for internal stakeholders.
+ Ensures University compliance with federal and other sponsor requirements.
+ Provides counsel, advice and expertise to faculty on intellectual property (IP) matters.
+ Collaborates with researchers and legal counsel to secure patents and other forms of IP protection.
+ Receives and takes appropriate action on technology disclosures.
+ Serves as liaison to Research Corporation Technologies, Inc. and other similar organizations.
+ Provides education and training to faculty, researchers, and students on IP management, technology transfer processes, and commercialization strategies.
+ Conducts market research to identify potential markets and applications for University technologies.
+ Keeps abreast of trends, policies, and procedures as they relate to the field by self-study, attending seminars and courses which enhance personal development and strengthen the user function.

**MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
+ Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience required
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
+ Strong knowledge of intellectual property law and technology licensing required
+ Proven experience negotiating and managing complex licensing agreements required
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders required
+ Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on market-driven commercialization required
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team required

+ Author technical papers and promote Corning Advanced Optics - Aerospace & Defense capabilities in technical conferences/journals
+ Support commercial group with key account engagements, Product Line strategy & roadmaps
+ Monitor EO/IR and optical remote sensing system design patent publications
+ Travel Requirements: Up to 30% - Mostly Domestic
**Experiences/Education - Required**
+ BS Degree in Optical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
+ 10 years of experience in EO/IR systems as a technology designer or program manager at Defense Prime Contractors

The range for this position is $155,968.00 - $214,456.00 assuming full time status.
