Summary:
The System Administrator is a technical owner and assumes a lead role in the administration of Business and Clinical Intelligence applications and tools. Ensures the coordinated, controlled and optimal operation of the assigned systems and tools. Ensures performance, interoperability and effectiveness. Systems and applications that involve administrative capabilities include Epic Cogito, Epic Security, Data Courier, and CBI databases. Partners to facilitate a process-people-technology method of transformation and administers/supports these enterprise IT applications and tools for all Catholic Health (CH) facilities. Identifies, develops and implements software solutions, managing vendor software and aligning best practices. Serves as a SME and technical liaison. Performs problem diagnostics, creates solutions, and addresses ticket resolution and tracking. Provides analysis, builds solutions, and tests optimizations. Prepares specifications and documentation. Supports specific projects. Works collaboratively with members of multiple teams to provide coordinated solutions to complex problems.
The System Administrator does so at an advanced complexity and competency and is a resource to IT team members. Procedures for the job are general and work is minimally supervised. The associate knows and analyzes procedures, interprets and adapts them with discretion as necessary.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves assisting in the planning, designing, implementing and advising on technical aspects in the Health Information Technology Department at the Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC). The Classroom & Events Technology Specialist will support technology in event spaces, conference rooms, classrooms, and departmental labs. Responsibilities will include set up and dismantling of large production event gear, live event production, and assisting in configuring and maintaining AV equipment for all educational spaces. Purpose of Role
The Classroom & Events Technology Specialist will support technology in event spaces, conference rooms, classrooms, and departmental labs. Responsibilities will include set up and dismantling of large production event gear, live event production, and assisting in configuring and maintaining AV equipment for all educational spaces. This position is supported by other IT staff to ensure seamless assistance. The position will follow IT-defined standards and best practices when troubleshooting issues and assist with planning and designing projects. The position will work with academic departments for producing University sponsored events.
The position is non-exempt (hourly), full-time, thirty-five hours per week. Additional hours may be required for weekend events and other peak periods.
About This Opportunity
Joining our Information Technology team, the Classroom & Events Technology Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Capture and produce academic and administrative video content.
- Select appropriate gear based on the intended size of special events, classes, and all other needs, as assigned.
- Remain current with modern technology and propose changes to AV systems and policies to improve efficiency, security, and reliability.
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance of AV systems.
- Coordinate with other technical support teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Assist with installing and maintaining classrooms, meeting spaces, labs, and public spaces as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree or industry standard certifications; work experience in a similar industry will be accepted.
- Two or more years of experience working in a highly complex environment.
- Experience with Audio/Visual equipment, including video recording and production.
- Experience and understanding of AV control systems, such as Extron.
- Previous experience in a live production environment, with multi-faceted areas of support (audio/video/staging, etc.).
- Knowledge of Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot equipment and software.
- Knowledge and experience with video conferencing platforms.
- Knowledge and experience with instructional technology systems.
