Position Summary
Responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing the systems and processes that support the operational and academic functions of the university. Works closely with faculty, staff, administrators, and IT teams to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and lead the implementation of technology solutions that enhance institutional performance. Requires expertise in higher education business processes, a strong understanding of relevant technologies, and the ability to manage complex projects and systems integrations.
This is a full-time onsite position.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Business Process Analysis: Work closely with university departments to analyze business processes, workflows, and data requirements. Identify areas for improvement and provide solutions that align with institutional goals and objectives based on industry trends.
- Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Elicit and document detailed functional and technical requirements from stakeholders. Develop comprehensive system documentation, including user stories, process flow diagrams, and system specifications.
- System Implementation & Support: Collaborate with IT teams to design, test, and implement system solutions. Provide ongoing support during system rollouts, ensuring proper training, data migration, and user adoption.
- System Optimization: Continuously assess and evaluate existing systems and workflows to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency. Recommend and implement system upgrades or new technologies as needed.
- Communication & Training: Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Conduct training sessions for end-users, helping them understand system functionality and encouraging effective use of technology to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Project Management Support: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and execution for system upgrades, replacements, and new implementations. Monitor progress and deliverables, ensuring alignment with timelines and budgets.
- Change Management: Support change management processes for system changes and upgrades, including preparing communication plans, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and gathering feedback.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure that business systems adhere to university policies, regulatory requirements (such as FERPA, HIPAA, etc.), and best practices for data security and privacy.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a related role, ideally within a higher education or large-scale organizational environment; support of institutional business offices such as university advancement, research and sponsored programs, human resources is highly valued.
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, student information systems (SIS), or similar systems in higher education is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, process modeling, and documentation.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools, SQL, or reporting platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with administrative and academic technologies in higher education.
- Proficiency in systems analysis, business process modeling, and requirements documentation.
- Knowledge of system integration practices and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification preferred.
- ITIL Foundation Certification or equivalent knowledge of IT service management best practices preferred.

This role will provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise in the OT hardware and infrastructure to lead overall optimization through application of technology, implementation of best practice standards, building capability within the salary & hourly teams, and driving cost savings programs within the Mill.
In this role, you will:
Be the site point person for the OT Support Center (OTSC)
Coordinate communication from the OTSC to site engineers, technicians, and mill leadership (drive ownership down to asset engineer level – educate & delegate)
Drive accountability at the mills to meet OT requirements.
Deployment and on-going support of OTbase, a tool and platform that is used for the asset management of the OT environment. Requires training others and is the point person for raising issues back to OTSC
Facilitate the awareness and usage of digital tools to support OT environment, e.g., Splunk
Participates in project reviews and sets direction and ensures that appropriate resources are involved (i.e., DTS/MOSAIC and mill engineers)
Infrastructure planning for key upgrades, thinking longer-term benefits and aligning technology solutions, consistent with sector & regional standards
Security / training – educating mill resources and ensuring compliance with cyber security standards and policies, including on-boarding of new EEs, electrical or instrument reliability techs
MOSAIC infrastructure obsolescence / asset management (the controls portion would be the mill capital vs. the infrastructure would need to be driven from the OT side working in conjunction)
Keep connected with industrial automation control systems and the impact to the OT environment (drives, controllers, electrical devices, safety systems, power distribution, etc.) - Aligning to standards for implementation
Provide leadership by example in corporate safety, quality, regulatory, product safety and sustainability.
Support the application of the sector Quality Management Process in all assignments and responsibilities.

Job Description
The Automation IT Automation Identity Management Brand Technical Specialist (BTS) role is a technical, pre-sales, client-facing role supporting customers in the US Industry Market. As a Brand Technical Specialist you'll work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM's industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.
**Your role and responsibilities**
. The BTS provides prospects, customers, IBM business partners and the IBM's sales team with in-depth domain, product, solutions and/or technical product expertise covering the IBM Automation Identity Management (IM) pillar. This pillar includes solutions such as IBM Verify Suite or IBM Trusteer.
. You apply your business insights, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate hardware, software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. This is an opportunity to shape the future for both IBM and its clients.
The BTS engages in pre-sales activity of the sales cycle including sales/business discussions, solution discovery, solution and business assessments, solution demonstrations, pilots and Proof of Concepts. They understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and competitive landscape as it pertains to the IBM Automation IM pillar.
This role requires a consultative, solutions-focused approach that requires in-depth needs analysis (discovery), art of the possible demonstrations, customized presentations and demonstrations, and delivery of written documentation and other material to support the sales team and sales opportunities. When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, the BTS role is responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* As a IAM Technical Specialist, you will be required work closely with clients to understand their business requirements, assess their existing systems, and recommend optimal solutions utilizing IBM IAM products.
* Proven track record in technical sales, preferably within the Identity & Access Management space.
* Good understanding of security practices, methodologies, architecture patterns, and best practices.
* Basic exposure to Identity & Access Management solutions, including IBM Verify Suite or IBM Trusteer.
* Sales and Business Development Skills: Proven ability to drive sales processes, from identifying opportunities and developing relationships to managing client expectations.
* Pre-Sales Support and Solution Design: Experience in delivering technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof of concepts.
* Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and help negotiate contracts.
* Collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful implementation, configuration, and customization of IAM products.
* Conduct workshops and training sessions for clients' stakeholders to educate them on IAM functionalities and best practices.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Automation Market Expertise: Demonstrating expertise in the Automation market and establishing trust as a valued advisor for clients (training on IBM's Automation offerings will be provided).
* Technical exposure to IBM Identity & Access Management products such as IBM Verify Identity, Verify Governance, Verify Access, Verify Cloud Ident, Verify Privilege, IBM Trusteer, MaaS360, Verify Identity Pro, etc.
