What You’ll Be Doing

As a Technology Project Manager, you’ll lead and manage the schedule, scope, and budget for technology projects. This role involves coordination between development efforts, cross-functional teams and change management processes to ensure successful completion of project goals. You’ll be part of US Risk Technology, a new team with the mandate to improve CIBC’s risk management capabilities through data, tools, and processes – enabling our bank’s continued growth.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend two days per week on-site at our 70 W Madison Street office in Chicago, with the option to work remotely on the other days.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Project Management – Execute a project plan that strikes the right balance between budget, time, and risk. Monitor milestones; ensure they’re completed on schedule. Proactively identify risks to the project and define mitigation plans. Assess and document lessons learned; apply findings to continuously improve project delivery.

  • Financial Management – Track project spending, including vendor invoices and intercompany charges. Manage costs to budget.

  • Cloud Skills – Apply your knowledge of cloud computing in Microsoft Azure to ask the right technical questions.

  • Change Management – Coordinate technology changes using ServiceNow, following Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles and CIBC change management standards.

  • Enterprise Delivery Framework – Create, maintain, and manage Enterprise Delivery Framework documents to ensure consistent project governance, alignment with organizational standards, and effective project execution.

  • Communication and Persuasion – Share ideas, build consensus, and write with impact. Chair meetings. Report status to the program.

  • Vendor Management – Hold third parties accountable for their project commitments. Actively manage risk by escalating contractual concerns and potential breaches of service level agreements.

  • Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Negotiate deliverables and milestones.

  • Relationships – Develop trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate at least five years of experience in project management within the financial services or technology industries. You have managed cross-portfolio projects in a matrix environment. You are experienced with waterfall and agile methodologies in the context of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). You have experience with project management and issue management tools like Microsoft suite (including MS Project, Teams), Planview, ServiceNow, and JIRA.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $103,900 - $126,900 for the Illinois market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be a member of our multi-disciplinary team and will work under the direction of a project leader. Projects include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial and science and technology.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform basic to moderately complex construction drawings and specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction.
  • Under limited supervision, design communications and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, including electronic security and Audiovisual systems per applicable codes.
  • Analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts. Research and respond to design issues.
  • Participate in value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team.
  • Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts.
  • Assists in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
  • Assists in gathering information to respond to RFI's and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
  • Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
  • Must be willing to perform overtime work and be willing to travel.

    As a Workday Director within the Technology Modernization Practice, you will help organizations proactively shape and implement their overall strategy and supporting initiatives.     The Operations Technology (OT) team within Information Technology develops and deploys technologies that connect manufacturing equipment and processes to enhance safety, quality, traceability, and efficiency across S&C's global Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The team also drives innovation through New Product Development and integration with key business systems such as ERP and PLM.

    As the Manager of Operations Technology, you will serve as a subject matter expert and champion for MES adoption and best practices. You'll act as the primary liaison between Operations leadership and the OT team to manage priorities and deliver technical solutions that provide business value.

    You will lead a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals while fostering innovation and operational excellence across S&C's manufacturing environment.
