The Opportunity CACI is looking for an experienced System Administrator to support multiple cloud-based and virtualized systems. The System Administrator will be a member of an experienced team located at a client facility in Charlottesville, VA and will work within a fast-paced and agile environment. This position requires a highly skilled system administrator with knowledge of coding/scripting and automation technical depth to maintain existing databases, applications, compute infrastructure, continuous integration efforts, and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure production systems are operating efficiently and available to end users.

Responsibilities For this role, you will be responsible for installing, upgrading and maintaining cloud-based and virtualized systems. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Manage and maintain Windows/Linux servers - physical, virtualized, and cloud-based.
  • Monitor, manage and maintain ElasticSearch/OpenSearch clusters.
  • Monitor, manage and maintain AWS Cloud resources such as S3, EC2, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Monitor, manage and maintain Postgres databases.
  • Monitor, manage and maintain container orchestration systems.
  • Utilize scripts and programming technologies to automate tasks, generate system access reports, and create/update application database records. (using bash, python, etc.)
  • Create and maintain system administration processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems have the appropriate security patches and security configurations installed, e.g OS patches and STIGs.
  • Support other tasks as required for hosting systems in DoD environments.
  • Support operations teams as required.
  • Must be flexible with work hours to support team coverage requirements of 6AM - 6PM.
  • Must be able to support maintenance activities in the evening and weekend, as well as provide on-call support as needed.
Qualifications Required:

  • An active DoD TS/SCI security clearance and obtain a Poly.
  • Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems and command line knowledge.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare vSphere, Hyper-V).
  • Experience in application administration, configuration, and integration.
  • Experience with ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
  • Experience with cloud-based environments and resources, such as AWS, S3, RDS, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch.
  • Experience with information system security best practices and STIGs.
  • Experience in an environment requiring good customer service skills.
  • Compliant with DoD 8570 (COMPTIA Security +, Server+, Linux+, AWS Certified, etc.).

The Data Center System Administrator will maintain data center operations. Primary Tasks:

  • Be able to work with and employ rack level redundancy techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.

  • Provide support implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers. Rapidly distinguish isolated user problems.

  • Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements.

  • Develop solutions to complex technical issues.

Successful candidates must possess the following skills:

Certifications

Education

  • Candidate must have a BS with 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Clearance

  • Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.

  • An active TS/SCI with polygraph required for position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain and maintain a specific polygraph.

Primary Tasks:
  • Be able to work with and employ rack level redundancy techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.
  • Provide support implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers. Rapidly distinguish isolated user problems.
  • Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements.
  • Develop solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support customer requirements in a 24/7/365 mission environment and be able to respond to after-hours emergency calls (power/cooling disruption).
  • Update operations and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 personnel.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Provide support to other Infrastructure Operations teams based on skills/experience in System Administration.
Successful Candidates Must Possess the Following Skills:
  • Experience with interacting with customers to handle service inquiries and problems.
  • Experience working in a data center.
  • Knowledge of data center standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of power infrastructure layout from generation to rack level, redundancy levels and techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.
  • Experience with Tier 2 system administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment.
  • Time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Track record of working effectively within a team, and collaborating with peers toward improved processes and results.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) products such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
  • Experience mentoring others.
Certifications:
  • Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher)
Education:
  • Candidate must have a BS with 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Clearance:
  • Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.

The UVA Health system is seeking an expert Oracle Cloud HR System Administrator and interface developer. Responsible for database administration and ERP application administration. As the database administrator responsible for the installation upgrade and maintenance of database systems at the Staff Specialist level. This includes database administration duties such as continuous monitoring and performance tuning for system efficiencies. Ensures system availability usability and survivability. Manages systems and develops procedures for database security backup schedules restoration and development. Controls system capacity or sizing for supported applications and plans for future needs. Troubleshoots system issues with Server Team and vendors. Supports Server Teams in their upgrade tasks. Supports auditor requests. As ERP application administrator responsible for the installation upgrade maintenance and monitoring of ERP systems at the Staff Specialist level. Maintains and configures application and web servers, process scheduler, database connectivity and various application tools components. Manages and secures integration with external (cloud) ERP components to extend the capabilities of the core ERP. Migrates ERP projects programs and files from development to production environments. Supports team members and ensures that established deadlines and client needs are met. Keeps management well informed of area activities. At this level the individual is recognized as an expert in their own area and can solve complex problems independently. The individual can work independently on all issues and is a resource for less experienced team members.
+ Understands all aspects of supporting complex databases providing overall maintenance, continuous monitoring, and auditing for system efficiencies and response-time improvements and quality control.
+ Set direction and lead projects to ensure optimal application and system performance.
+ Often communicates technical solutions to teammates and management and provides assistance to teammates in an effort to enhance the overall services provided by the group.
