The Opportunity CACI is looking for an experienced System Administrator to support multiple cloud-based and virtualized systems. The System Administrator will be a member of an experienced team located at a client facility in Charlottesville, VA and will work within a fast-paced and agile environment. This position requires a highly skilled system administrator with knowledge of coding/scripting and automation technical depth to maintain existing databases, applications, compute infrastructure, continuous integration efforts, and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure production systems are operating efficiently and available to end users.
Responsibilities For this role, you will be responsible for installing, upgrading and maintaining cloud-based and virtualized systems. Your responsibilities may include:
- Manage and maintain Windows/Linux servers - physical, virtualized, and cloud-based.
- Monitor, manage and maintain ElasticSearch/OpenSearch clusters.
- Monitor, manage and maintain AWS Cloud resources such as S3, EC2, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Monitor, manage and maintain Postgres databases.
- Monitor, manage and maintain container orchestration systems.
- Utilize scripts and programming technologies to automate tasks, generate system access reports, and create/update application database records. (using bash, python, etc.)
- Create and maintain system administration processes and procedures.
- Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems have the appropriate security patches and security configurations installed, e.g OS patches and STIGs.
- Support other tasks as required for hosting systems in DoD environments.
- Support operations teams as required.
- Must be flexible with work hours to support team coverage requirements of 6AM - 6PM.
- Must be able to support maintenance activities in the evening and weekend, as well as provide on-call support as needed.
- An active DoD TS/SCI security clearance and obtain a Poly.
- Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems and command line knowledge.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare vSphere, Hyper-V).
- Experience in application administration, configuration, and integration.
- Experience with ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
- Experience with cloud-based environments and resources, such as AWS, S3, RDS, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch.
- Experience with information system security best practices and STIGs.
- Experience in an environment requiring good customer service skills.
- Compliant with DoD 8570 (COMPTIA Security +, Server+, Linux+, AWS Certified, etc.).

Primary Tasks:

Be able to work with and employ rack level redundancy techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.

The Data Center System Administrator will maintain data center operations. The System Administrator will rack and stack equipment, support upgrades and consolidations, ensure power is transferred if there is a power failure, and provide general data center system administrator support. **Primary Tasks:**
+ Be able to work with and employ rack level redundancy techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.
+ Provide support implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers. Rapidly distinguish isolated user problems.
