Transportation Project Manager

Seeking a qualified Project Manager to plan and manage projects. Projects may include trails, roadways, sidewalks, green and complete streets, and active transportation projects for ODOT, LPA, and Non-LPA clients throughout the state of Ohio. Additional projects may include community planning, active and passive park work including greenways, waterfront, etc. This position will provide technical and client management project leadership.

As a Transportation Project Manager:

  • Supervise associates directly or indirectly, and provide ongoing direction specific to project tasks, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Review, mentor, develop and manage associates' performance of project goals and company expectations.
  • Manage all activities for assigned projectsincluding scheduling work, project budgets, directing associates and sub-consultant activities, establishing and monitoring quality requirements, ensuring client satisfaction, and promoting integration across all areas of work.
  • Report project budget variances to Director and a plan to bring the project back into compliance.
  • Communicate regularly with clients on project status.
  • Ensure project communication between team members and clients.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and other outside groups.
  • Make formal presentations to clients, stakeholders, the public, and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare proposals/contracts, and determine project requirements, budget, deliverables, and scope based on client dialogue and project understanding.
  • Identify potential funding sources.
  • Identify project risks and monitor/mitigate risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and implement associate programs that foster a positive work environment and help develop each associate to their fullest potential.
  • Demonstrate a passion for client service and relationship building with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and teams within our organization.
  • Build client relationships through project delivery that meets and exceeds client expectations.
  • Identify future projects/opportunities, services, and client needs.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and technical conferences for business development purposes.
  • Adhere to the company's QA/QC Performance Standards.
  • Ensure the project and associates follow organizational and operational guidelines, processes, deadlines, and procedures; make recommendations for any improvements as appropriate.
  • Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned for the organization's best interest.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Experience in trail and/or multi-modal transportation, or the motivation to learn this specialty, is required
  • Understanding of plan production, task management, schedule, and budget management
  • Willingness to train, mentor, and lead individuals within the department
  • PLA/RLA, AICP, PE, or other relevant certifications are preferred

Salary Description:

Position Summary

To serve our internal and external customers within our Command Center to oversee trucking lanes, ensure the safety of routes and standards in order to provide timely, accurate deliveries while consulting with senior management on methods to improve overall system efficiency to increase company sales and profits.

Essential Functions
  • Monitor and report on Geobox, Express, OTR and Service Tech/Install Teams routes to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes existing routes and determines current and future plans to increase efficiency to meet customer needs; works with location Sales Operations, Warehouse and On-Premise leaders to develop and execute route plans based on safety, service times and business demands
  • Oversees utilization of routing/planning software to ensure consistent adoption by users and maximum system functionality.
  • Monitors and provides real-time information on delivery delays, route deviations, Chilled Juice temps, driver safety. Communicates with location leaders on changes to daily routes or potential missed deliveries.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the routing process to provide support and/or assistance when required.
  • Maintains and reports out on metric scorecards, KPI analysis, SOPs and feedback, reporting to senior leaders when required.
  • Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g. OSHA, DOT and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local laws).
  • Maintains confidentiality of financial information, customer information, employee information (e.g. discipline, wage information), and other sensitive and confidential information.
  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

Education Level

Must have experience in Beverage Delivery/Supply Chain, Business Management, Logistics, Sales or related field. Associate or bachelor's degree in business management, Logistics, Sales or related field strongly preferred.

Experience

Must have 3-5 years of previous beverage management, supply chain experience and 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience.

Computer Skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, generally technology adoption and RTS Logistics.

  • Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers to ensure smooth cross-border shipments

  • Finalize and incorporate forecasts into the SIOP planning process, influencing inventory, financial, and capacity planning

  • Manage global carrier relationships and lead annual RFP processes

  • Create and track supply chain cost-saving initiatives

  • Track KPI metrics across international supply chain activities

  • Maintain proactive communication of shipment status with internal and external stakeholders

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently

  • General negotiation skills

  • Proficient in ERP systems

  • Experience with HTS tariff codes, international customs compliance, global shipping documentation, and import/export processes

  • Comfortable working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and international logistics providers

Education / Training Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or quantitative fields, or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of industry supply chain, inventory management, forecasting, procurement, or logistics experience

SALARY: 80,000 to 85,000 range annually, plus benefits

Position Summary:

The associate transportation analyst is responsible for providing support and minimizing impact across all transportation modes (air, ocean, non-merch, and parcel) for VS&Co. The global transportation team is responsible for managing global shipments to and from our US distribution centers. The associate transportation analyst will act as a liaison between the VS&Co Logistics team, internal partners and external service providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily shipments and transportation flows using available tools (Excel, Access)
  • Support the development of reporting innovations to increase speed and accuracy of shipments and flows
  • Monitor OTM (Oracle Transportation Management) and research any identified issues
  • Provide reporting to management detailing provider delivery performance, volume, trends, and other special projects as needed.
  • Pull shipment and flow data and summarize for various partners across the business
  • Respond quickly to change with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new ways to work and achieve objectives
  • Support sustainable and repeatable processes in the logistics network to support all transportation modes (Ocean, Air, Parcel, SD&S and Non-Merchandise logistics categories), including the creation and updating of SOPs.
  • Assist in providing weekly and monthly reports to management detailing provider delivery performance, corporate volume and sourcing trends, and special projects as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related discipline or 1+ years of experience working in a related position
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical abilities, and high proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to digest data and share out to different audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with time definite projects and reporting
  • Self-motivated proven ability to make independent decisions and suggest process improvement
  • Minimal travel within the Central Ohio area may be required
