Planning

Distribution and Logistics
+ Address distribution issue escalations and manage resolutions with 3PL and/or internal teams.
+ Manage interfaces, transactions, and postings in ERP system.
+ Manage 3PL processes for inventory, returns and claims, recall activities and reporting, and product destructions.
+ Manage inventory reporting and communicate with appropriate parties.
+ Manage pick/pack/ship processes with 3PL ensuring full- and on-time delivery to meet targeted customer service level.

**Job Description**
The Transportation Business Line of **AECOM** is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Engineering Intern for immediate employment in the Columbus, Ohio office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting and challenging projects on the local and national level, including the Brent Spence Corridor project where AECOM is functioning as the lead designer.
The intern can look forward to projects including highway and bridge-related design.
Example Activities:
+ Perform design calculations for highway and bridge design projects.
+ Design in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
+ Assist the project manager/project engineer in the preparation of planning documents.
+ Assist the project manager/project engineer in the development of construction documents to include Civil drawings and technical specifications.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in transportation engineering at an ABET-accredited university and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with a Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most recent school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline after the internship.
+ Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship is required
+ Valid driver's license required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Must currently be enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a local ABET-accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in transportation engineering.
+ Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) programs.
+ Must have excellent written and communication skills.

- Prepare construction plans, estimates, and other deliverables for transportation projects.
- Prepare project designs and deliverables in compliance with documented commitments, standards, and quality assurance practices.
- Work within design team while cognizant of project scopes, schedules, budgets.
- Follow all in-house procedures related to documentation of designs and process flow.
- Attend and document project/client meetings with agenda and/or notes/minutes.
- Use knowledge of general concepts of engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to support engineering projects that focus on transportation systems such as such as highways, streets, bridges, tunnels, drainage structures, roadway lighting, airports, railroads, and commuter trains.
- Assist team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
- Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.
- Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
- Perform field work related to construction activities as required.
- Provide work leadership and training to more junior professional and technical staff and provides technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians assigned to work on a common project.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word and Excel.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil3D or with Bentley MicroStation and Open Roads Designer.
