Position Overview
The Director of Transportation and Logistics leads procurement, execution, and governance of transportation within North America and EMEA. Taking a continuous improvement approach and operational excellence must be embedded in your overall strategy. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge in supply chain and transportation management, 3PL/4PL freight management experience, encourages and develops high performing teams, cultivates productive and enduring relationships with transportation service providers, evangelizes customer service and business development, drives performance excellence and process improvement, knows how to manage cost within budget and delivers strategic projects and initiatives. The Director of Transportation anticipates and offsets barriers by being Intune with the business trends, solutions oriented and works collaboratively with key internal and external business partners across geographies.
What You'll Do
- Drive the development and execution of transportation strategies, working closely with internal customers (sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, IT, and finance) to achieve business growth and meet the needs of our customers. Remains fully in-synch with the fast-paced business requirements and provides operational and logistics options and solutions.
- Lead efforts to analyze transportation performance, identifying and prioritizing opportunities to reduce lead time and cost while improving the customer experience
- Own carrier relationships to include supplier reviews, assessments, RFP/RFQ and contract negotiation and administration
- Track, analyze and communicate transportation and carrier key performance metrics while holding providers accountable to meet targets
- Analyze and recommend network distribution models, supply chain architecture and tactics with regional extended teams
- Develop, promote and retain top talent, directly leading team members that can be local, remote, and overseas
- Set and manage annual budgets and quarterly simulations. Report on financial metrics as they relate to transportation
- Support Stanley compliance and the Global Trade Team with certifications such as C-TPAT, CSI, CCP, AEO, etc.
- Continuously benchmark and apply best-in class-capabilities and tools to leverage to ensure Stanley mains clear advantages in the marketplace

- Demonstrated depth and excellence with negotiations with regional, national and international carriers including drop ship capabilities
- Experience with transportation systems and the ability to build tools and reports to keep a strong pulse on transportation

Primary Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Manager - Inbound Transportation leads a small team focused on optimizing inbound freight operations. This role combines hands-on data analysis with team management to improve transportation performance, reduce costs, and strengthen partnerships with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers. The Manager plays a key role in executing transportation initiatives that align with KeHEs Mission, Vision, and Values
Essential Functions
- Lead and develop a team of analysts or coordinators, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback to support professional growth and business objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve inbound transportation efficiency, develop freight solutions, and support broader supply chain initiatives.
- Leverage transportation systems (e.g., Blueprint workflows, Manhattan TMS, & other KeHE systems) to manage inbound operations, optimize payload utilization, and enhance on-time delivery performance.
- Monitor freight spend and margin impacts, identify inefficiencies, and guide the team in executing corrective actions.
- Produce and review analytical reports and dashboards to support both the inbound transportation team and other business units.
- Support internal decision-making by maintaining reports, dashboards, databases, identifying key performance indicators, and communicating insights to stakeholders.
- Work with the Accounting Team to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide root cause analysis for freight-related variances.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain roles required.
- A minimum of 1 year of direct or indirect team leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Transportation-Supply Chain Coordinator II
The Transportation-Supply Chain Coordinator II manages daily pick-up and delivery operations across multiple warehouses and fulfillment partners, coordinating carriers and internal teams for efficient direct-to-consumer shipping. This role focuses on building carrier relationships, analyzing performance, operational compliance, and implementing cost-saving initiatives. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to streamlining logistics, troubleshooting, and ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
This is a full-time, hybrid position at our Sandy Office, located at 17014 NE Sandy Blvd. Portland, OR 97230.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Oversee successful execution of daily pick-up strategy across national distribution centers (DCs), coordinating carriers, DC staff, and internal teams for smooth execution of small parcel, LTL, and FTL shipments.
Lead carrier tracking and monitoring processes, manage triage response efforts, and implement quality control processes to optimize on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with carriers and third-party logistics (3PL), ensuring success with day-to-day logistics operations and contract compliance.
Conduct regular meetings with internal and external partners, including review of key metrics to ensure adherence to SLAs, cost optimization, and quality performance.
Develop and implement a proactive communication strategy that fosters strong relationships with DCs, logistics service providers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency, effective problem resolution, and continuous improvement.
Continuously analyze transportation spend through detailed reporting and performance tracking, identifying and implementing cost reduction initiatives to optimize transportation costs.
Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to provide analytical support for accruals, invoice processing, carrier invoice audits, and billing issue resolutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (purchasing, finance, accounting, warehouse DCs) to streamline logistics workflows, troubleshoot operational challenges, ensure shipping label compliance, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
WHAT YOU BRING
B.A. or B.S. degree in business, supply chain, procurement, finance, or equivalent experience.
At least 4 years of progressively more responsible work experience related to small parcel (UPS/USPS/FedEx/DHL) ecommerce fulfillment.
In-depth understanding of domestic transportation modes and processes.
Proficiency with MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
Meticulous attention to detail, high accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
Experience with any of the following systems Oracle, Monday.com, Looker, Snowflake, Aftership, Transportation Insight, API & EDI connections preferred.

If this is a hybrid role, reliable internet access is required (1-2 days a week in the office).

- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
Finance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.
- Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
Safety
- Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy
- Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures
- Conduct safety observations
Growth / Customer Experience
- Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations daily
- Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives
- Determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts
Fleet/Assets
- Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment
- Work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Work with vendors to ensure equipment is maintained
- Work with Penske Truck Leasing to ensure schedule of preventative maintenance is complete
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

- Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to connect, build rapport and maintain solid relationships with associates, Company leadership, internal and external customers. ¬
- Must have ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required
- Ability to manage through a problem, think critically, and make decisions independently
- Ability to drive process improvement and lead change
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
- Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
