Day Routes start at 5a, Mon - Fri, and must be able to work as needed.
Starting Pay Range is: $65,000 - $75,000/yr.

Position Purpose:Oversees the transportation department of one or more locations within assigned geography; providing leader-ship within the location(s) as assigned. Acts as the liaison between customer, operations, CSRs, and the support team.
Key Job Activities:* Customer First:
o Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure that adequate inventories are maintained at all times
o Manage driver debrief process. Ensure there is documentation (manifest, PDT receipt, etc.) for every customer transaction. Update route comments as required
o Maintain a high standard of customer service as measured by key metrics (on-time, no missed stops, loyalty, etc.).
o Develop relationships with customers and establish contacts that are comfortable providing accurate service feedback
o Conduct customer visits to review service
o Manage customer interaction records to resolve service issues
* Company Growth:
o Review payroll hours to ensure overtime hours are necessary and all employees are working efficiently
o Manage route vehicles, containers, load bars and straps, hand-trucks, PDT's and printers, and all other company equipment and assets
* Team Member Development:
o Select, train, and develop an effective and efficient staff: Make every reasonable effort to select, train, and develop a qualified, diverse workforce.
o Establish and communicate performance standards and objectives; conduct performance appraisals
o Perform "ride a-longs", ensuring Route Drivers operate and work safely, efficiently, productively, and deliver a high level of customer service
o Conduct "spot checks" to reinforce proper Driver behavior as well as communicate the value we bring to the customer
o Perform new hire onboarding activities, including timely completion of the I-9 process, along with new hire orientation
o Complete location audits
* Compliance:
o Track and input DOT hours/JJ Keller
o Administer Company policies and procedures, communicate to staff, interpret, as necessary, and ensure compliance and safety
o Monitor and ensure that employees are performing their functions safely and productively. Make recommendations for changes or improvement when necessary, in order to prevent accident or injuries
o Participate as an active member of the Safety Improvement Committee (SIC)
o Oversee and participate in the maintenance of Driver Qualification Files, DOT Log Files and Vehicle Condition Reports for all Route Drivers and equipment. Ensure DQF, DOT Logs and VCR are accurate and complete; must maintain DOT files
* Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- Education equivalent to graduation from High school, or GED equivalent; some college preferred
- May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
- Valid drivers license required; Commercial Vehicle Driving experience a plus
- Maintains a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) issued by a doctor approved by Stericycle/Shred-it
- Must work safely and carefully to prevent injury to self and others while driving, loading, and unloading vehicle. Requires constant mental and visual attention relative to the safe operation of the vehicle
- Demonstrates knowledge of, DOT, OSHA, HIPAA, and NAID
- Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications to include spreadsheets and word processing
- Demonstrates knowledge of inventory management and routing and re-routing

The Transporter Specialist for La Jornada (The Journey) Program focusing on transitional foster care (TFC), will be responsible for coordinating transportation and physically escorting children who have fled their country of origin and arrived in the U.S. without a parent or legal guardian as they continue their journey to be united with sponsors.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
The Transportation Specialist will perform duties including but not limited to:
+ Must be able to travel out of state up to 40%-50% for reunification efforts.
+ Performs all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program's Mission, Values and Philosophies .
+ Coordinates transportation including organizing and navigating travel destinations, physically escorts, and supervises youth while in transit to scheduled and emergency appointments. Coordinates medical transport with Charge Nurse. Coordinates clinical transport with clinical staff. Coordinates reunification transport with team.
+ Tracks and assigns all doctor appointments via supervisors - attends weekly supervisor meeting.
+ Maintains a daily roster of times, dates, destinations, transporters and length of transport.
+ Provides documentation of all missed appointments or unusual events to the Management Team.
+ Tracks and schedules all group outings weekly via transportation outing schedule.
+ Maintains cell phone numbers of staff on transport.
+ Ensures daily cleanliness and upkeep of all vehicles assigned to the campus - includes inspecting for cleanliness, damage, proper equipment and safe operation of vehicle.
+ Ensures vehicles are properly fueled.
+ Maintains security over the vehicles and keys.
+ Reports vehicle needs and damage to maintenance and tracks all vehicle issues in regard to repair.
+ Maintains notebooks - includes inspecting logs for completion and accuracy.
+ Provides safety training to all new hires every three weeks.
+ Collects and tracks all safety checklist sheets and provides weekly report.
+ The supervision and transport of youth requires prolonged periods of walking and standing and physical agility. May be required to run and climb flights of stairs.
+ Must be able to participate in physical interventions with youth when necessary.
+ Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
+ Will be required to complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR training.
+ Schedule will vary depending on transport need; flexibility is needed.
+ Other duties may be assigned.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Experience working with at-risk youth.
+ Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is required.
+ Excellent time management and organization skills.
+ Excellent written and oral skills.
+ Applicants are required to pass an agility and strength evaluation.
+ Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
+ Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
+ Bilingual (English Spanish). Fluency in Spanish is required.
+ Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
+ 21 years of age, valid state driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and a good driving record.
