Assist with daily operation of transportation office and provide time management services to department
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft word and excel
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases
Experience:
  • Experience preferably in public education transportation preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Prepare detailed reconciliation reports.
  2. Compile pertinent data to prepare various required state and local reports.
  3. Maintains physical and computerized departmental files on transportation employee time management
  4. Answer incoming calls and handle questions and requests that fall within level of responsibility
  5. Process the time swipe data for it's completeness in the employee TEAMS time management report
  6. Coordinate the merging of time swipes for all job functions with each department supervisor for accuracy
  7. Point person for all swipe discrepancies announced by department employees for quick resolution
  8. Department liaison between Transportation and Payroll
  9. Provide required training for all department time approvers as needed
  10. Meet flexible deadlines
  11. Maintain effective rapport with general public and handle any problems or concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
  12. Make sound recommendations to the Transportation Administrators as it pertains to reducing overtime

Assist in the acquisition of parts, supplies, and maintaining inventory of parts for repairing vehicles. Assist dispatching (and Field trip Coordinator) with assigning vehicles. Assist in the fueling, lubricating, cleaning, and minor maintenance and repair of buses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid Texas Commercial Drivers License or the ability to obtain (Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to operate a bus

  4. Locate and requisition all parts needed for vehicle repair.

  7. Loan and unload delivery trucks.
  8. Open crates and other containers to unpack items received and inspect for damage and defects.
  9. Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring and comparing size, weight, description, and coded numbers with information on invoice or packing slips and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
  10. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computer records required including computerized parts inventory. (Delete Line)
  11. Maintain accurate records of all fuel used.
  12. Maintain records on parts used, time spent on labor, and cost of each repair job. (Delete Line)
  13. Detect and resolve problems with incorrect orders, invoices, and shipments. (Delete Line)

  15. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  16. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.

Summary:

Responsible for completing tasks associated with inventory control such as scanning products, picking orders, restocking par carts, inventory locations, and point of use systems.

Responsibilities:

Cycle counting and physical inventory counting as directed.
