- Checks dock area to ensure that employees have required equipment and that trucks leave according to scheduled dock departure
- Checks that all teams are catering correct aircraft and flights
- Ensures that all employees are in compliance with safety procedures and Airport Transport Authority badging requirements
- Works with management staff to improve performance of the unit
- Assists teams with late flights and equipment changes
- Responsible for getting information from airlines on service requirements and updates
- Maintains radio contact with Operations Manager, meal planer and leads during operation
- Conducts regular checks of the kitchen to ensure no equipment was left behind after flights leave the kitchen
- Responsible for security and proper transportation of galleys and maintaining cleanliness of vehicles
- Responsible for safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Ensures specifications, airline diagrams, and other standards are accurate according to the airline specifications.
- Ensures that all products are coded according to Gate Gourmet procedures.
- Works with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery and fleet according to schedules, reports maintenance and repair issues in timely manner.
- Maintains Company policies and procedures as well as specification books for airline customers
- Maintains all financial goals related to material, productivity, overtime, and labor goals
- Prepares management reports (ex. attendance, HAACCP and labor) as required.
- Responsible for supervising drivers and driver assistants
- Responsible for performance evaluation, coaching, counseling and preparing corrective action for employees and liaises appropriately with HR and other support functions.
- Manages work flow balancing - - the division of responsibilities amongst employees on each shift including assignment of responsibilities and workstations.
- Manages daily manpower planning including assignment of responsibilities and workstations.
- Determines when and whether to call employees in to cover staffing needs (ex. sick calls, vacation relief, medical leaves, volume changes, etc.)
- In conjunction with department leaders determines number of employees needed by shift
- Ensures compliance with company Wage & Hour policy, including ensuring employees get the rest & meal breaks and ensuring company processes are followed.
- Trains and monitors employees on proper work procedures to ensure maximum productivity with minimum labor and food expenses.
- Monitors daily manpower planning and schedules employees.
- Responsible for employee retention and reducing employee turnover.
- Responsible for coaching, counseling and preparing corrective actions for employees in compliance with the applicable union/collective bargaining agreement(s).
- Reviews and ensures employees in chain of command are in correct cost centers and correct job titles.
- Reviews and ensures union represented employees' pay rates are correct based on wage scales and seniority.
- (note: this should only apply to OP73 and OP78) Ensures employees complete all company required training including but not limited to ServSafe
- Compliance with all company required policies, procedures and processes including but not limited to required training
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree preferred.
- 2+ years supervisory experience working in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, and restaurant or catering environment or equivalent experience in the related field preferred
- Must have strong and effective leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of 30+ hourly employees.
- Current or previous labor relations experience is a plus, but not required.
- Candidate must be comfortable with all levels of employees and have the ability to drive positive program change.
- Ability to train others required.
- Must have the ability to give negative and positive feedback to employees on a daily basis.
- Excellent time management skills required. Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills required.
- Must be innovative and have the ability to make changes to the operation as needed to further improve the work environment and unit performance.
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.

Role
The selected candidate will work as part of a team and will be responsible for transportation planning including data analysis and reporting; mapping, graphics, and visualization; use of technical tools; innovative research; and meeting participation on a wide variety of transportation projects. The candidate will be involved in projects based on experience, interest, and skills, such as transit development plans; transit service and operations planning; regional transportation plans; bus rapid transit and priority corridor plans; active transportation; transportation strategic planning and performance monitoring; transportation demand management planning; and microtransit and micromobility planning.
Responsibilities will include:
- Participating in a variety of project types as well as projects with different project managers.
- Developing and applying a variety of methods for analysis.

Alta is looking for a Transportation Engineer Project Manager (Engineering Associate I-II) to join our growing design team in the Atlanta office. Day to Day
As a Transportation Engineer Project Manager , you will be responsible for:
- Managing a variety of multimodal transportation projects, including complete streets, bikeway design, and pedestrian improvements.
- Developing high-quality design documents, including Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for bid-ready packages.
- Participating in site visits to investigate existing conditions, observe construction activities, and inform design decisions.
- Leading and supporting project coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
- Collaborating with internal teams to prepare proposals, scope of work documents, and technical graphics for grant applications and other planning activities.
- Assisting with business development and contributing to the proposal process when pursuing new projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity
- 2+ years of experience with project management, including coordinating teams, preparing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; experience with Civil 3D, OpenRoads
- Experience with DOT and Federally funded design projects is strongly desired
- Strong background in transportation design, including experience with multimodal transportation solutions, complete streets, bikeway design, pedestrian improvements, and related projects.
- Ability to design, manage, and deliver project tasks such as geometric layout, grading, storm drainage, green infrastructure, traffic control plans, construction staging, and more.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to lead or coordinate project tasks, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Deltek Vision or similar project management software.
- Willingness to travel as needed for site visits and client meetings.

Compensation
The pay range for this job in Atlanta is $93,500-$27,500 annually. Placement within the range is based upon experience, skill-sets, and qualifications.

Work Schedule for a Senior Transportation Engineer
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home up to 2 days per week. The Atlanta office of Toole Design is conveniently located in Inman Park along the Beltline. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.

Qualifications of a Senior Transportation Engineer:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, or related field
- Professional Engineering license
- 10+ years of experience developing construction documents for roadways or highways
- 5+ years of experience serving in a project or design management role with a track record of progressively responsible work, managing projects
- A broad knowledge base in civil engineering, with specific experience in grading, drainage design and 3D modeling, roadway geometric design, and design of accessible public spaces
- General experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating utility and right-of-way impacts and street lighting, traffic signal, and landscape/hardscape layout
- Experience in Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and a design software (Civil 3D or OpenRoads)
- Experience reviewing construction plans and providing constructive feedback
- Experience developing construction documents, cost estimates, and specifications
- Interest in multimodal and active transportation issues and design (specifically for bicycle, pedestrian, Safe Routes to School and/or transit integration) for all ages and abilities
It would be a plus if you have:
- Experience in preparing transportation and local agency design documents, including the GDOT Plan Development Process (PDP)
- Experience preparing proposals and scope/fees
- Experience in business development including networking with colleagues and clients at public events, industry organizations (e.g., ITE, ASHE, or ASCE), and agency organized events
- Experience with stormwater design software is a plus (e.g., HydroCAD or HydroFlow)
- A desire to manage, mentor, and inspire staff
- Willingness to perform site or client visits
