Internship Opportunity

Diamondback is an independent oil and natural gas company headquartered in Midland, Texas, focused on the acquisition, development, exploration, and exploitation of unconventional, onshore oil and natural gas reserves in the Permian Basin in West Texas. The role will include exposure to the complexities of managing the flow of goods, services, and information across our operations.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the general supervision of the manager and mentor, the Summer Intern is responsible for the completion of day to day tasks as defined below:
  • Develop and increase their knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry under the supervision and guidance of an assigned and experienced mentor
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for all supply chain groups
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to identify ways to implement technology and data analysis to help drive more efficient processes and decision making
  • Contribute to the identification of process improvement opportunities
  • Assist in maintaining supply chain documentation and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Support ad-hoc requests
  • In addition, the Summer Intern will complete a project supporting the Supply Chain department which will be presented in front of Diamondback upper management (CEO, CFO, COO, etc.)
  • The Summer Intern will also have the opportunity to participate in Diamondback philanthropic endeavors that help the immediate community of Midland-Odessa

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Energy Commerce, Business Management
  • Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, work ethic and communication skills
  • Must be willing to work in Midland TX, for the duration of the internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A completed Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Energy Commerce or Business Management, and pursuing a graduate degree in Data Science or related field
  • GPA of 3.20 or higher preferred
  • Knowledge of the upstream sector and oil and gas industry as a whole
  • Knowledge of data science, statistics, and technology
  • Familiarity with oil and gas terminology

Job Summary

Sundt is looking for committed engineering (Civil, Structural, and Mechanical) and construction management students within accredited Universities/colleges. The internship will provide you with unique experiences on challenging projects throughout the US while providing you the opportunity to participate in several of the activities it takes to successfully build our projects. Key Responsibilities

1. Assisting with project record keeping, preparing shop drawings, and assisting with cost control records.
2. Assisting with report preparation, safety inspections, submittal logging and processing.
3. Assisting with surveying, testing, sample collection, drawing correction and filing.
4. Assisting with time keeping and cost control, inventory control, schedule checking, subcontractor monitoring.
5. Attending bid openings, conferences, etc.; taking notes, making records, completing forms.
6. Observing and reporting results of meeting and conducting site tours for visitors .
7. Preparing quantity take-offs, calling vendors and sub-contractors for proposals.
8. Working as a manual laborer, helper, clerk or technician assistant, etc.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. A team player, ready and willing to take on whatever challenge is offered.
2. Currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
3. Eager to learn, immensely curious, full of questions, and ready to get their hands dirty.
4. Prefer those who have interest in a construction career for a builder.
5. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Job Summary

The Project Superintendent (PS) will plan, coordinate, and supervise the field and/or administrative operations of projects. They will provide technical direction and have responsibility for the safety, costs, productivity, profitability, and overall quality of the work (including self-performed work) for the project(s). The PS will establish productivity goals and measure performance as well as schedule labor, materials, and equipment, including the work of subcontractors and may supervise one or more field superintendents. This position includes several 'steps', which provide for a progression of skill and experience. • Project Superintendent I is
capable of less complex projects of $20 million and under with typically 3-5 years' experience in this position. • Project Superintendent II is capable of medium scale projects of $0- 50 million in size with typically 5-10 years' experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assists in the review of shop drawings, submittals, subcontract change orders and purchase orders.
2. Collaborates with the Project Manager to develop the project management plan (PMP) including the project scope management plan, procurement plan, environmental plan, time management plan, financial plan, quality management and safety plans and risk management process.
3. Conducts weekly coordination meetings with project teams and subcontractors and prepares daily field status reports.
4. Coordinates the documentation of constructability issues, potential design conflicts and clarifications with the appropriate personnel.
5. Develops and manages the construction plan for the successful execution of the work performed.
6. Ensures work is executed according to contract terms and conditions in a profitable manner.
7. Interacts effectively with owners, teams and other stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment and exceptional client experience.
8. Manages field operations. Is responsible for project success, including profitability, safety, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction.
9. Prepares and updates the original CPM Project Schedule and ensures the schedule is kept current to manage the project appropriately while utilizing LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.
10. Prevents claims, identify potential claims, quantify, document, mitigate/resolve the effects of those that do occur on a timely basis.
11. Provides leadership and guidance to assigned project team members and subcontractors. Plans, reviews, develops and manages the project team to ensure relentless execution of the project.
12. Responsible for the development and implementation of the Project Quality Management and Safety plans according to Sundt standards as part of the project management plan (PMP).
13. Responsible for the timely completion of all punch lists and develops a schedule as required by the owner for the successful start-up and commissioning of all systems.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
2. Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
required.
3. Must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods), negotiations, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety.
4. Must have construction project and supervision experience in similar types of facilities.
