Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the transportation operations of the organization. This role involves coordinating schedules, routes, and logistics to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services. The Transportation Coordinator will also maintain relationships with transportation vendors and customers to ensure the highest level of service is delivered.

Essential Functions

• Manage the execution of transportation’s day-to-day operations using transportation management system
• Monitor containers and coordinate with transportation vendors to secure capacity and ensure proper procedures are adhered to
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about shipment status
• Ability to identify exceptions and find solutions to potential delays
• Resolve and communicate operational issues preventing on-time delivery and empty container return
• Ensure all customer contacts and locations details are accurate and kept current.
• Monitor the container cycle from shipping to final empty container return.
• Maintain strong relationships with transportation vendors.

Ensure that loads are delivering on time, monitoring pickup, in-transit and deliveries to proactively intervene and save late deliveries, driving high levels of service to our customers.
• Perform hyper-tracking of critical loads as defined by the business and transportation teams.
• Update tracking information and new dates in spreadsheets, FourKites, Control Tower, TMS, and/or SAP to leverage cross-functional visibility and communicate to customer teams as soon as delivery exceptions are known.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external parties to secure accurate and timely updates on shipment status.
• Coordinate reschedules with carriers ASAP after a confirmed missed pickup or delivery.
• Make customer delivery appointments using web sites, e-mail and/or phone calls to customers.
• Analyze shipment data to ensure every load has a confirmed delivery appointment.
• May provide coverage to operation teams that would include performing daily inbound and/or outbound shipment planning or execution in support of daily operations.

As a Supply Chain Analyst, you'll manage material flow and supplier performance to ensure production readiness and cost efficiency. You'll analyze demand requirements, negotiate pricing, issue and manage purchase orders, and proactively address changes in supply or demand. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you'll resolve quality, pricing, and delivery issues to maintain seamless operations and support continuous improvement in the supply chain process.

About the Role

• Review planned orders as generated by MRP to release purchase orders/schedule lines, expedite released orders and delay released orders.
• Resolve message issues by analyzing and working with colleagues (Production Control, Planning, etc.) to determine root causes and implementing corrections.
• Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
• Control & Monitor PPV with keen negotiation skills.
• Review and analyze planning tables to identify shortages that may impact customer orders.

• Quickly resolve issues with material receipts.

Responsible for coordinating transportation and movement operations necessary to transport employees, inmates, documentation and/or materials between various locations (i.e. detention facilities, jails, hospitals, courts, government offices etc.).
