Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers that are located within the individual sites in an effort to streamline logistics within each individual operation

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of employee and performance management experience

Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
- Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees

The base pay for this position ranges from $81,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150,100/year in our highest geographic market. + Responsible for van and escorting passengers during transport to and from pick up to delivery site.

Manager, Transportation will ensure a Transportation department culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagements with drivers, best in-class service to customers, and safe and profitable operations. They will use their experience in transportation operations to manage personnel and drive efficient transportation operations through the associates they lead, ensuring the safe, accurate and timely daily outbound shipments to customers and other distribution centers within the organization.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate, our customers, and the general public with whom our drivers interact remain injury free, always. Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the Transportation department.
- Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Ensure all drivers and other Transportation department associates are appropriately trained in job duties as well as safety and legal responsibilities.
- Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates by discussing performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and creating plans to address gaps.

- Build high-performing teams by participating in interviewing and hiring Transportation personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Transportation Managers. Review performance, coach on service and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
- Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. Anticipate, analyze and troubleshoot problems with deliveries and devise cost-effective and legal solutions; act to implement same. Ensure team understands and adheres to DOT regulations.
- Identify and stop waste, and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.

Oversee maintenance of driver qualification files.
- Investigate all accidents, maintain an accident file, track causes and take appropriate preventative action.

**Main Ingredients of the Job**
+ Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
+ Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
+ Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
+ Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
+ Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
+ Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
**Physical Requirements**
+ Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
+ Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
**What You Bring to the Table**
+ **Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse***
+ Must be at least 21 years of age
+ Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
+ Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
+ Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
+ Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Job Description
Performs many of the non-clinical tasks required to deliver care. Coordinates the interaction of an assigned clinical area with Support Service departments to deliver a high level of customer service to co-workers, patients and the clinical staff. Works in a self-directed manner to prioritize the delivery, preparation, use, cleanup, and storage of most supplies, medications, equipment, and other non-staff resources for a clinical area. Provides leadership and support to the operations of Logistics Services. Assists the Logistics Services Supervisor with staff, resource, and process management. Assists in the development of more efficient support systems / processes.
Job Duties
+ Supports the care delivery process by coordinating Logistics Services staff to ensure all assigned daily duties are being completed.
+ Daily duties may include any non-clinical activity required to support the delivery of care.
+ Ensures the proper management of the resources for an assigned clinical area, including procurement, transport, storage, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance assistance.
+ Resources may include any supplies, non-controlled medication, linen, equipment, or other materials required for patient care or for other required activities.
+ Maintains a current understanding of the supplies, equipment, services, other resources, and operations provided by the Support Services departments.
+ Assures timely and effective response to department and clinical unit requests and requirements.
+ Monitors and responds to activity and issues.
+ Responsible for monitoring and maintaining performance metrics which accurately indicate the performance of staff and utilization of resources for assigned work areas.
+ Develops new metrics as appropriate or requested by leadership.
+ Proposes improvements in efficiency of staff duties and job processes and actively works to implement the improvements.
+ Utilizes metrics to drive and evaluate improvement projects.
+ Solicits and encourages staff suggestions for improvements.
+ Works to promote a team environment and open communication within the work area.
+ Acts as a mentor for employees.
+ Participates on interdepartmental teams as needed.

Geisinger is proud to offer a Logistics Specialist Senior a $2,500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates, $7.81 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to 2 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to 40,000 in financial support to become a nurse!
+ Hiring Incentive: This position qualifies for a 2,500 sign-on bonus paid in two installments. Certain stipulations do apply.
+ Hours: 3:00pm-11:30pm
