**About the job**
In a typical day, you will troubleshoot and find solutions to resolve warehouse issues as they arise, performing daily walkthroughs and safety checks, set-up and manage carrier pickups, supervising team members and managing daily workflow.
+ Provides leadership to location warehouse, supervisors, leads, and warehouse associates.
+ Reviews and maintains local cartage plans and contracts to support warehouse shipments to meet customer requirements.
+ Implements warehouse throughput and space metrics at location.
+ Works closely with the Operations Manager/Regional Operations Manager to improve business processes and operational performance.
+ Establishes performance expectations and reviews warehouse staff.
+ Manages warehouse safety processes, equipment, forklift certification, and reporting.
+ Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
+ Assists the warehouse team in traditional warehouse tasks, i.e., picking, receiving, loading, unloading, assisting customers/drivers, etc.

The Manager, Warehouse will ensure a warehouse culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagements with warehouse associates, best in-class service to customers, and safe and profitable operations. They will use their experience in warehouse operations to manage personnel and drive efficient warehouse operations through the associates they lead, ensuring the safe, accurate and timely receiving and storage of inbound product or selection and loading of outbound product.
**This application is only available to active-duty service members eligible to participate in a DoD SkillBridge Internship. The service member must be within the last 12 months of their active-duty contract.** **This is an unpaid, non-benefit eligible internship position in partnership with the DoD SkillBridge program.**
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate remains injury free, always. Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the warehouse.
- Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Discuss associate performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create plans to address gaps.
- Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing workforce to ensure efficient workflow.
- Direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates within the warehouse department. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.
- Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Warehouse Managers. Review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
- Lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on the trucks. Oversee the preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift.
- Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods. Take action through coaching and counseling to correct behaviors.
- On day shift, designate dock locations for inbound carriers. Ensure product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures. Monitor replenishment activity to ensure stock is available for the shipping shift and to minimize the potential for "shorts". Oversee will call.
- Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.
- Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan. Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control.
- Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
- Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed.
- Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)
- Other duties assigned by manager.
**SUPERVISION:**
- Direct: Union and/or non-union warehouse on-floor associates (Loaders, Selectors, Receivers, Forklift drivers, etc.)

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Related Experience/Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution required.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
**Travel:**
-10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training.
**Education/Training:**
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

The Warehouse Operations Planner ensures the fulfillment center has the system support, processes, and training required to achieve operational objectives; coordinates between systems, fulfillment center, and operations teams to develop and maintain detailed functional requirements and operational process flows; prioritize and manage the delivery, functional testing, and implementation of new functionality and enhancements; manage and validate data integrity; and analyze and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for continual improvement within the operation and system functionality.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Follows all safety guidelines and performs in a safe and careful manner.
+ Responsible for trouble shooting and resolving warehouse management system (WMS) and warehouse control system (WCS) issues
+ Vendors point of contact for all WMS/WCS system needs.
+ Monitors all conveyance and automation systems to ensure proper workflow
+ Documents all system changes
+ Responsible for exception reporting for all warehouse functions to include root cause analysis and problem solving
+ Responsible for sales and operational reporting required for the fulfillment center
+ Creates and sends on demand reporting required by the Operations Team
+ Researches all SLA and Aged order discrepancies identified by the KOP reporting team
+ Plan and execute physical/systemic setup for business changes (peak, non-peak, promotion), this includes locations changes, put away logic, pick path/zone adjustments and sku slotting
+ Creates detailed SOPs for any changes to physical/systemic setup driven by the business.
+ The Warehouse Operations Planner is trained in all department processes, and they create and update SOP's when needed
+ Leads and executes project work as well as client requests (promos, quality and inventory checks, slotting updates, research)
+ Partners with client regarding value added services (VAS) preparation requirements to include creating operational SOP's
+ Assures that knowledge of potential system changes is shared with the Operations Team (waving parameters can be adjusted, etc.)
+ Creates/updates slotting matrix used by Wave Planners to aid in making proper replenishment transactions
+ Monitors aged inventory transactions and investigates as needed
+ Work Change Carrier (orders that need to be re-rate shopped interfaced to the WMS)
+ Research and assist with sku issues to include auditing item profiles and on hand inventory
+ Prepares/executes all systemic functions of RTV processing
+ Assist with all client transfers in and out of the facility both operationally and systemically
+ Verifies and completes aged receipt transactions prior to inventory sync to ensure accuracy
+ Responsible for the training and ongoing coaching of Wave Planners
+ Performs the job duties of a Wave Planner if they are absent
+ Reports any failures of associates to follow proper systemic procedures affecting production/SLA agreements
+ Assists with user set up and password resets
+ Assists with training associates
+ Trains associates for new system rollouts
+ Provides information/training to other Radial sites
+ All other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
**Qualifications:**
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Experience, 2-4 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment
+ Above average knowledge of all conveyor sortation and other automation
+ Verbal skills/knowledge to describe specific conveyor areas to vendor/maintenance team should replacement parts be needed/installed
