ABOUT THIS ROLE
We're looking for an exceptionally bright, driven, well-connected individual for the role of Manager, Public Relations. This position will report to the Senior Director, Public Relations, within the Global Corporate Affairs team and brings daily interaction with senior executives and the media. In this role, you'll be able to use your acumen for the evolving media landscape to positively impact Audible's disruptive, high-energy technology-driven culture and its innovative audio entertainment.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will be able to spearhead end-to-end content PR campaigns independently, complete complex tasks quickly, and shape press narratives in a competitive environment. The Public Relations Manager should come with a strong network of press and creative community connections, and the desire to help build a team strategy on a quickly evolving original content team. The candidate should also have a strong background working with talent and notable franchise partners, and experience driving organic press and event outcomes across multiple projects simultaneously. They must have the ability to work through ambiguous situations and pivot based on business needs without compromising quality of work or speed.
As a Publicity Manager, you will.
- Conceptualize, research, and execute creative PR outreach strategies and campaigns resulting in frequent positive press attention for Audible with an emphasis on our original audio releases (which include audiobooks, podcasts, genre-bending audio entertainment, and more)
- Build relationships with key reporters, editors, bookers, and producers to position Audible, its content, and executives as industry leaders
- Support talent with bespoke, informed, thoughtful communications guidance for interviews, events, conferences, and more
- Develop consumer and B2B presence at annual events and festivals, expanding press activities that compliment marketing and event activations
- Operate as an Audible communications liaison by maintaining relationships across the company to ensure every PR opportunity is maximized and successes are amplified

Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree and 8+ years of experience in a PR capacity in one or more of these areas: Audio, TV/Film, Publishing, Tech, Music, and Theater
- Experience with public relations, talent relations and events

- Pre-existing strong media and entertainment industry relationships
- Ability to independently run original content communications campaigns from start to finish - taking initiative, defining goals, and remaining results-oriented

Primary Responsibilities:
Client Management: Strong experience as the client lead, spearheading the strategy and execution of integrated accounts—across services or internationally, including seamlessly incorporation of B2B strategies in a proactive manner. Writing: Excellent strategic writing skills with experience developing published opinion pieces and thought leadership content for clients.
Media Relations/Relationships: Maintain solid relationships with top-tier media and proven ability to drive results for strategic integrated media programs. Moderate media interviews; lead media training for C-level execs; oversee the creation of media briefs, key messages, and talking points; initiate implementation of media events such as press conferences, briefings, and media tours; serve as the senior on-site agency contact for press interviews at conferences and events.
Client Service: Responsible for setting a standard of excellent and consistent work, delivering superior client service at all times. Maintain a thorough understanding of clients’ businesses and industries; actively follow and understand emerging issues, trends, and news impacting clients’ business, and competitors, and proactively advise the team and client regarding how best to leverage or address these developments. Public Relations Lead Tax, Associate Director
Join our Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team and you’ll directly support and promote our brand and reputation. Through internal communications, public relations and corporate communications, you’ll provide a wide range of marketing and communications services to internal and external audiences. These include current and future clients, our current and future employees, alumni, regulators, the media and the communities within which we operate.
The opportunity
You will be responsible for supporting the BMC Director of Americas Tax in developing and executing public relations initiatives to support business strategies and promote EY’s image in the market with firm events, sponsorships and news through national publications and media relations. You’ll serve as the first point of contact for media inquiries, assist Tax leadership, the Tax practice and priority industries by building media relationships, thought leadership and delivering strategic messaging to the marketplace. This will involve a combination of proactive media outreach and deadline-driven, reactive media relations that requires constant collaboration with firm leadership and region and global communication teams.
Your Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for collaborating with Americas Tax senior leadership to understand business objectives and establish public relations programs that promote the brand and capabilities of the Americas Tax Practice. You’ll develop and execute public relations plans, including media relations initiatives for coverage of EY’s public sponsorships and events. You’ll promote Americas Tax through media briefings, news releases, conferences, roundtables and articles to gain positive exposure leading to business opportunities. You’ll also be responsible for contributing to EY’s national thought leadership development and executive visibility.
Skills And Attributes For Success
- Adept at developing and fostering relationships with journalists (television, radio, magazine and newspaper) to facilitate the promotion of the firm through these venues to gain positive exposure leading to business
- Ability to coordinate national public relations strategies with regional public relations efforts to leverage the promotion of the firm across multiple venues
- Ability to assist leadership in providing crisis management support, conduct media outreach and manage relationships with US, trade and regional media
- Adept at overseeing press collateral development along with retaining and managing outside PR agency support
- Experience in working with complex, matrixed organizations and across multiple stakeholders
- 10-plus years of public relations/communications-related experience
- Experience in tax and tax-related issues, such as government policy, trade and tariffs
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a MA preferred
- Demonstrated success in building internal and external relationships at a senior level with a proven track record of success in public relations
- Understanding of the complexities of dealing with the media — identifying opportunities without creating risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening, interpretation and influencing skills
- Excellent project management skills, team building and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to drive the content and initiatives behind strategic touch points and relationship-building efforts
- Possesses deep knowledge in public relations and communications plans
- Ability to analyze appropriate communications channels to build awareness of the firm’s key messages
- Adept at working on client-related projects

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $130,500 to $51,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is 156,600 to 285,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
- Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
