Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Hair Stylist or Cosmetology Educator passionate about sharing your experience and expertise with new talent coming into our industry? At our East Lansing Institute, we're looking for experienced Cosmetologists and Licensed Cosmetology Educators to inspire and educate our daytime and evening students. If you are not yet a licensed Educator, this position provides paid training and state requirements to become a licensed Instructor.
What You'll Do:
- Teach assigned classes under the supervision and guidance of the Education Coach & Program Team Lead
- Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge in teaching field
- Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position
- Grade and return student work in a timely manner
- Instruct students on proper sanitation methods and oversee sanitation efforts throughout the day

- Ensure you communicate all student challenges to all members of leadership, collaborate and work towards a solution
- Enforce policies and procedures set forth in the Student Handbook; ensure that students comply with Institute set directives; follow and help implement all branded visual presentation standards and guidelines
- Address student challenges in an effective and timely manner; counsel and assist students in resolving issues
- Ensure Aveda Rituals are performed on every guest; demonstrate an understanding of the actions, values, and behaviors that constitute a strong guest care culture
- Identify and resolve guest and student issues and/or requests in an efficient and timely manner
- Schedule and pre-book guest appointments as needed

WHAT ARE THE HOURS?
This is a full-time Cosmetology Esthetician Teacher position. This role provides a consistent weekly schedule that allows for strong student engagement and instructional continuity.
YOUR NEW ROLE AS OUR SKINCARE TEACHER
In this full-time teaching role, you'll lead engaging mini-classes and hands-on learning centers using Objective-Based Education (O.B.E.). You'll teach everything from skin analysis and ingredient technology to waxing, makeup, and prescriptive retailing. You'll also guide students in guest service and business skills, helping them build confidence and career readiness.
