Job Description
Video/Photo Editing Intern
Akari is a new Japanese spirits company preparing to launch in just a few months, starting with our flagship Japanese gin, followed by a small-batch whiskey. We’re not your typical Japanese spirits brand. While our craftsmanship is world-class, our brand identity is fun, bold, and eccentric—designed to capture the nostalgic, and vibrant side of Tokyo that people dream about. Think: karaoke nights, dancing salarymen, and the escapist energy of Lost in Translation.
Our creative direction is uncompromising—we shoot exclusively on film to achieve a timeless, high-fashion aesthetic. Once you see our reels, stills, and content, you’ll understand the beauty and tastefulness we bring to the industry.
The Role
We’re looking for a passionate Video/Photo Editing Intern to help us bring our Tokyo-inspired story to life. You’ll work directly with our creative team to:
- Edit film reels into short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
- Assist with photo editing, color grading, and visual storytelling
- Help curate content and provide a tastemaker’s perspective on what to post
- Be part of a hands-on, creative environment where your ideas and input matter
Who You Are
- Passionate about Tokyo and Japanese culture
- Skilled in video editing software (Premiere, Final Cut, or similar) and photo tools (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.)
- Creative eye with strong taste—you care about details, aesthetics, and storytelling
- Excited by fashion, film, and culture—not just “pouring drinks into a cocktail glass”
Why Join Us
This is more than an internship—it’s an opportunity to help build one of the most exciting, design-forward Japanese spirit brands to launch in the U.S. Expect creative freedom, portfolio-worthy projects, and a chance to be part of something unforgettable. Plus, there may be perks along the way.
If you love Tokyo, film, and the idea of working with a brand that feels more like a vintage art-house film than a traditional liquor company—you’ll love Akari.

Job Description
Remote or San Francisco, CA
Elsewhere is hiring a Video Content Creator to help us tell the story about our game and our studio. We’re working on a co-op multiplayer game that captures the aesthetic and soul of indie games, the replayability and depth of roguelikes, and the ambition to become a forever game that reaches millions of players.
You’ll help us create short and long-form content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and more. You’ll have creative freedom to scheme up eye-catching, funny, informative, and perhaps occasionally unhinged ways to tell gamers about who we are and what we’re doing.
This position is for an ongoing contract. Initial work will be about 10-20 hrs/week depending on business needs. If things go well, more work or perhaps a full-time role are possible.
Your Profile- You have a deep understanding of social media, having grown an account (perhaps your own or a brand’s) to an impressive number of followers and engagement on at least one major social media platform.
- You can get your hands dirty with and have expert-level knowledge of video and audio editing software (ex. Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut).
- You’re analytical when it comes to the performance of your content and are honest with yourself and your team when something just isn’t working.
- You have video content production equipment yourself or are opinionated enough to advise us on what to buy.
- You’re scrappy and clever about stretching a dollar, able to achieve significant results with a small marketing budget.
- You’re creative and bring a founder’s mindset to marketing, excited about experimenting with novel ways a game studio can reach and engage fans.
- You love games and the culture surrounding them, having played more games than you can count and having strong opinions on who the best creators are online.
- You’re ambitious and want to be an early part of something big with massive potential that players are going to absolutely love.
- You’re collaborative and excited to work closely with our founder, game artists, game engineers, our community, and other content creators we work with.
We have a deep bench of talent from diverse backgrounds and have been backed by top Silicon Valley investors. We’re an idealistic team that loves video games and deeply believes in their potential: both as a creative medium and as a way for us to socialize and play together.
Your colleagues would include:
- an indie game creator who launched a successful game on Kickstarter
- a self-taught immersive artist who built a massive creative business on her own
- an MIT-educated engineer who single-handedly added networking to a hit game in the ARPG genre
- a gamedev who made an unauthorized fan remake of a Nintendo game that went viral
- a repeat entrepreneur who previously co-founded a billion-dollar startup
