**General Purpose of Job**
Our summer intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university. The internships run from May to August - dependent on the school calendar. The goal of the Indorama Intern Program is to provide a structured program that will equip interns with the skills and experience to help prepare for a successful career.
Under close supervision, intern will be responsible for providing technical support to assigned area(s). After initial orientation, intern will be assigned to Production Engineering or Process Engineering in continuous production units, batch process or utilities.
**Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities**
+ At the end of the internship, the intern is required to give a project assignments presentation to the Site Leadership Team.
+ Support engineers in performance of assignments, both project and day-to-day workings of engineering
+ Provide status updates to mentor/engineer on project assignments
+ Under management supervision, ensure that activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).
+ Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
+ Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
+ Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
+ Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.
**Education / Experience / Skills Requirements**
+ Must be a full-time college student at the Junior or Senior level by the end of Spring 2026, currently enrolled at an accredited university seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering
+ 3.0 GPA or higher required
**Specific certifications, licenses, or registrations:**
+ Must be authorized to work in U.S. and not require work authorization sponsorship for this position or in the future.

**POSITION PURPOSE**
This temporary position provides assistance to the Section Engineers and Compliance Program Supervisor with troubleshooting process conditions; reviewing quality assurance/quality control requirements; and monitoring process conditions to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal specifications and regulations.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
+ Assist with verifying that Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's) are complete and accurate.
+ Assist Section Engineers by taking field readings and measurements for data collection to make design changes or monitor process operations.
+ Utilize software applications to verify designs or develop new designs.
+ Perform technical investigations for equipment such as control valves, instruments, heat exchangers, pressure relief devices, and pumps with direction from the Section Engineers and Compliance Program Supervisor.
+ Develop and issue process engineering design packages to recommend changes to the process while under supervision of the Compliance Program Supervisor.
+ Assist with other company functions, such as DGC Family Night
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Be at least 18 years of age.
+ Be enrolled as a full-time student four-year Chemical Engineering (EAC/ABET accredited) program with Sophomore year completed, or recent graduate (within the past 12 months).
+ Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
+ Hold a valid driver's license.

**PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS**
This position requires constant hand coordination; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing; occasional lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds, hand grip up to 35 pounds, pinch grip, bending and reaching. Requires finger dexterity, good vision, hearing, the ability to perform close work, and be able to communicate and clearly exchange accurate information. The incumbent will occasionally be required to work at heights up to 250 feet and in high climbing areas on grating, ladders, scaffolding, man baskets and other areas, which requires the use of safety equipment, including a harness, in accordance with ANSI Z359 standards. This position is continuously exposed to noise; frequently exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, chemicals, and extreme heat and cold; and occasionally exposed to vibration, poor ventilation, and confined areas such as inside vessels, heaters, tanks, and trenches. Incumbents are required to wear dust masks, respirators and full-face Scott Air Paks when necessary. The incumbent will be required to work rotating shifts as needed. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
