* Maintain cumulative health file on each student
* Assure district regulations are met regarding dental examiniations, physical examinations, and immunizations - follow state policy for exclusion and eye exam. Review and interpret medical and dental reports. Send letters to all student in need of additions/corrections.
* Carry out the vision and hearing screening programs and follow-up on deviations.
* Conduct school programs of immunizations when needed.
* Participate in the planning and follow-up of screening programs by agencies outside the school
* Interpret the health and dvelopment status of the pupil to him/herself, his/her parent/guardian and school personnel.
* Counsil with pupils and staff in dealing with their health problems
* Compile and maintain a file of current health education materials for students and faculty.
* Act as consultant and resource person to staff in their health teaching
* Encourage and assist with in-service health education programs
* Establish policies and procedures for providing emergency care for illness and/or injury occuring while the student is under the jurisdiction of the school
* Work with community agencies for effective use of their resources and facilities
* Appraise student health problems and inform teachers. Develop confidential health report for all necessary staff members and update as needed.
* Conduct home visits and health histories, as required, for special education purposes in a timely manner
* Serve on IEP committee for students with medical needs
* Other reasonable tasks as assigned by the school administration within the schope of what is required of other non-certified staff members
* Dispense medication to students. Get medicine ready for all field trips.
* Maintain medication in locked cabinet and maintain medication and records/first aid supplies
