Your day:

Department: Operating Room

Shift: 10 hours/day Monday - Friday Variable days with call. some nights, weekends, and holidays.

As a Cardiovascular OR RN you need to know how to:  

  • Recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs  

  • Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind  

  • Assess a patients’ medical status upon admission  

  • Assist in developing individualized treatment plans  

  • Comply with evaluation, treatment and documentation guidelines  

Your experience:

  • BSN from an accredited program

  • Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain Colorado RN license, required  

  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire (with prior approval), required (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service)  

  • At least one (1) year of Cardiothoracnursing experience in a comparable acute care/surgical services setting, highly preferred

  • Respond to patient emergencies as needed. Respond as the charge or lead person for disasters.

As a Cardiovascular OR RN you need to know how to:

Your day:

As a Weekend OR RN Shift Coordinator / Charge RN you need to know how to:  

  • Supervise and/or provide direct patient care. Assist and support staff in responding to and problem-solving situations related to patient/ family complaints, Physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, and Hospital safety.  

  • Respond to patient emergencies as needed. Respond as the charge or lead person for disasters.  

  • Collaborate with the staffing office and adjust numbers of staff for census changes during the shift.  

  • Communicate with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, pending admissions and discharges, any problems they need to be aware of, and any patient information that will be helpful in making assignments.  

  • Support unit management team in managing department productivity/staffing and timekeeping and coordinating unit activities.  

  • Perform evaluations, coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.  

  • Participate in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.  

Your experience:

  • ASN / ADN from an accredited program with the ability to obtain your BSN from an accredited program within four (4) years of hire unless you possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting, required .

  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire (with prior approval), required (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service).

  • Weekend Nights

  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7pm - 7:30 am

Your day:

As a Weekend OR RN Shift Coordinator / Charge RN you need to know how to:  

  • Supervise and/or provide direct patient care. Assist and support staff in responding to and problem-solving situations related to patient/ family complaints, Physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, and Hospital safety.  

  • Respond to patient emergencies as needed. Respond as the charge or lead person for disasters.  

  • Collaborate with the staffing office and adjust numbers of staff for census changes during the shift.  

  • Communicate with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, pending admissions and discharges, any problems they need to be aware of, and any patient information that will be helpful in making assignments.  

  • Support unit management team in managing department productivity/staffing and timekeeping and coordinating unit activities.  

  • Perform evaluations, coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.  

  • Participate in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.  

Your experience:

  • ASN / ADN from an accredited program with the ability to obtain your BSN from an accredited program within four (4) years of hire unless you possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting, required .  

  • Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain Colorado RN license, required .  

  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire (with prior approval), required (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service).  

  • Minimum of three (3) years of RN nursing experience, required .

  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.

  • Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
