The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to treating speech and language disorders and functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. 

  • Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by the state laws governing the practice of speech therapy, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other members of the health care team.
  • Evaluates the patient's level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests. Assists the physician in the development of the therapy plan of care.
  • Treats patients to communicate effectively by expressing thoughts according to the patient's condition using acceptable standards of practice.
  • Instructs the patient, the family and/or caregiver and other members of the health care team in areas of speech therapy in which they can participate.

License Requirements

  • Must be currently licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of practice.

Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling pharmaceutical waste) to include proper handling and transport of pharmaceutical waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment, if applicable
  • Reviews all images of all exams, repeating images as necessary for best possible result. If necessary, notify physician of emergent findings according to established protocol
  • Uses computer system for ordering, changing, and canceling exams according to protocol. Confirms order matches exam before pushing to PACS or correctly 'fixes' exams on workstation or PACS




Qualifications

  • Completion of radiologic technology training and A.R.R.T. registration

Provides direct and indirect services in the acute care, inpatient, and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings, offering evaluation, development of care plans, and treatment for patients with bodily impairments and functional limitations as medically prescribed. The role encompasses evaluating and treating individuals whose ability to perform daily functional tasks is threatened or impaired by various factors, employing therapeutic goal-directed activities, physical modalities, exercises, and patient/family education/training to facilitate adaptation, productivity, and restore or maximize functional skills and independence. This includes direct involvement with a range of patient care activities, including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and documentation, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate functional progress and discharge planning. The Physical Therapist also contributes to departmental operations, performance improvement activities, budget formulation, and compliance with infection control, safety, and fire safety programs. This role demands personal accountability to the organizational mission and core values, with a commitment to providing care that is reflective of the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patient.

The role you'll contribute:




Under general supervision the Mammography Technologist II performs duties directly involved with mammography (screening and diagnostic mammography) and a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. This position is responsible for performing needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and seed implant (if available on site). The Mammography Technologist II regulates the equipment used to expose the imaging receptor; processes and organizes images. Additionally, this position operates equipment safely and maintains As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) standards while performing mammography and other types of radiological procedures.

  • Produces quality radiographs per the procedure manual

  • Completes work in appropriate time frame and ensures accuracy and completeness of work performed.
  • Work unsupervised and communicate with OP Radiology and Surgery staff to update exam status.




Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :




  • 1 years of experience
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiology
  • ARRT (M) Mammography
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

The role you'll contribute:




Provides direct and indirect services in the acute care, inpatient, and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings, offering evaluation, development of care plans, and treatment for patients with bodily impairments and functional limitations as medically prescribed. Utilizes process improvement strategies to achieve the goals of the Rehabilitation Department and adheres to all rules and regulations of applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. Responsibilities may include supervision of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, technical aides, volunteers, and interns while actively participating in outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with all. The role encompasses evaluating and treating individuals whose ability to perform daily functional tasks is threatened or impaired by various factors, employing therapeutic goal-directed activities, physical modalities, exercises, and patient/family education/training to facilitate adaptation, productivity, and restore or maximize functional skills and independence. This includes direct involvement with a range of patient care activities, including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and documentation, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate functional progress and discharge planning. The Physical Therapist also contributes to departmental operations, performance improvement activities, budget formulation, and compliance with infection control, safety, and fire safety programs. This role demands personal accountability to the organizational mission and core values, with a commitment to providing care that is reflective of the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patient.

  • Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and recommended techniques. Establishes, implements and adapts an individualized treatment plan of care (including appropriate goal setting, treatment activities and frequency). Discharges patients when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines.
  • Documents accurately, completely, and timely with legible handwriting. Uses measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
  • Charges patient accurately, timely, and legibly according to guidelines of the CPT code format and following insurance guidelines.
  • Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis, including discharge recommendations. Documents education and understanding, as appropriate.
  • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
