Operational Safety Support Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE
Assist the regional H&S manager to support and challenge the management line and all employees of the assigned area in reducing their risk exposure and defining the actions to mitigate risk and achieve zero accidents and occupational illnesses throughout the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Provide H&S expertise and support to site management and supervisors for the management of H&S
  • Support and challenge the line in defining and prioritizing the actions to implement long term country and site H&S strategy.
  • Use and provide specialized H&S knowledge and experience to help site leadership drive behavioral changes in the business to reduce incidents and become an industry world reference in H&S.
  • Translate strategic vision into comprehensive and pragmatic improvement plans to meet or exceed H&S ambitions set up at country level.
  • Actively participate in working with the rest of H&S team in proposing, communicating and implementing the Group and Country H&S strategy.
  • Coach and assist supervisors and managers on incident investigations.
  • Works with HR and site management to provide support on best working conditions and safe working environment (for night shift personnel, office and job place ergonomics, etc.)
  • Participate and/or lead safety audits on sites/entities as per the group's yearly schedule.
  • Works with the Hygienist Specialist and site leadership teams to ensure regulatory and group compliance regarding exposure and monitoring of vibrations, noise, dust and other chemical agents.
  • Assist site leadership in their communications with MSHA and OHSA.
  • Training employees on safety-sensitive subjects, including, but not limited to, confined space entry, energy isolation, work at heights, and hot work. Training subjects may include task training and skills improvement for hourly employees to improve productivity, safety, and efficiency while performing routine assigned tasks. Use Microsoft suite products to build and deliver training modules, record and document training completions as well as other relevant safety-related activities
  • Participation in Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) inspections, internal and external audits, and other third-party safety-related activities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years OSHA/MSHA safety experience

Required Work Experience: A minimum of three years in a safety support role. Working knowledge of worker's compensation law and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations is helpful. (Current employees within the organization with three years of experience, who demonstrates stretch potential and interest in the H&S field may be considered)
Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint. SAP experience preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Control Room Operator monitors operations of systems, processes, tests, production rates, and various types of equipment to ensure kiln and mill operations are in compliance with all company, safety and environmental requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Maintain continual observation of operation of all the various processes through recordings and indications of the control system, monitors and visual observation when necessary.
  • Ensure kiln and mill operation is in compliance with MSHA and company safety standards.
  • Ensure kiln and mill operation is in environmental compliance.
  • Monitor laboratory test results during shift and take corrective action as necessary to meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Manipulate controls to maintain optimum production rates and to prevent equipment damage.
  • Detect indications of equipment malfunction and report malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work to keep costs related to work in line with the plant budget and be alert for ways to reduce costs of operations, maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain work area in clean and organized condition.
  • Work overtime and rotating shift schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years in a cement operation

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Technician position provides a quality product to the customer by collecting samples and performing tests on raw materials, materials in process, finished products and competitive products located in Theodore, AL.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Collects samples and performs accurate quality control testing to ensure product quality. Provides verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists manager with customer service issues as directed. Certifies results of laboratory findings.
  • Examines laboratory and/or core samples to determine their physical and chemical properties. Uses a variety of instruments and calculations to determine conformity. Performs various tests to make certain that samples meet required standards.
  • Records, analyzes, certifies and prepares summaries of findings. Maintains records of test results using various databases.
  • Assists with customer service issues as required. Troubleshoots to determine reason for problem or complaint.
  • Collects samples from various areas of the plant as required.
  • Provides leadership and/or guidance to less experienced Tech QC and/or Inspectors on more complex assignments. Coordinates work to ensure that repairs are completed in a timely manner and according in order of priority. May train new employees.
  • Communicates problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

About Us:  MRG Exams is a premier provider of independent medical examinations, dedicated to supporting United States Veterans through the VA's disability benefits process. Our mission is to deliver thorough, objective, and compassionate medical assessments that contribute to timely and accurate disability evaluations.

Position Summary:  We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to conduct medical assessments for veterans. This role is exclusively focused on independent medical assessments and does not involve treatment. You will be responsible for reviewing medical records, conducting in-depth evaluations, and completing VA-provided Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through a secure online portal. These assessments will assist the VA in making accurate disability determinations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze veterans' medical records through a secure web portal.
  • Conduct comprehensive, non-treating assessments of veterans to document current health conditions.
  • Complete and submit DBQs based on VA-specific templates to capture all relevant medical findings.
  • Ensure that all DBQs are thorough, accurate, and submitted within 24 hours of the assessment.
  • Assess up to four veterans daily.
Schedule:  Part time, one day per week. Floating between Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL. Additional telehealth available as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Motivated to perform independent medical assessments in a non-treating, investigative role.
