Additional Information About the Role

BJC is looking for an RN with Occupational Health experience to join the team in an important role.  Ideal RN will be able to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and enjoys working with patients in a clinic providing hands-on nursing care. 

The Occupational Health RN assesses employees for visits related to work related injuries/illnesses and required occupational exams, delivers treatments and testing (i.e. wound care, immunizations, phlebotomy, vision/hearing, drug screening, spirometry), documents per regulatory standards, and supports return to work coordination and referrals. 

  • 40 hours per week on site at Boeing
  • Dayshift Monday-Friday
  • 7:30am-4:00pm
  • No weekends or holidays!
  • COHN preferred

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

    Position Purpose:

The position will be required to perform road call services as needed.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Complete and perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/ repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units) as well as, identifying root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
    • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition which may require replacement of parts
    • Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as “roadworthy”
    • Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
    • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers
    • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
    • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery requiring the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
    • Train other employees
    • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

    Qualification:

    High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent

    Required Experience: 5 - 7 Years
    5+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in A/C refrigeration.

Completes, at a minimum, twelve hours of offerings related to nursing related continuing education. Has a commitment to keep current with best nursing practices through knowledge of Bethesda's policies and self-study. Must be able to work at all of the Bethesda Health Group locations in a variety of care settings including Rehab, Long-term Care, Memory Care and Assisted Living. May be asked to work different locations day to day. Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.     Job Qualifications

    • Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
    • Current LPN license in Missouri and Illinois required
    • Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
    • IV certification required
    • Two years experience required, three years experience preferred
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
    • Willing to travel and work at all Bethesda communities
    • Long-term care and rehab experience required
    • Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
    • Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors, and staff
    • Time management and organizational skills required
    • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
    • Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary

    Summary

    Provides basic nursing care by assisting in the assessment of the resident on admission and on an ongoing basis. Remains knowledgeable about and communicates to the appropriate interdisciplinary team (IDT) member any significant change in condition. Accurately documents all assessments.
