Responsibilities

  • The person in this position will use basic computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects

  • Designing and producing sets of plans; implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards

  • Assists in maintaining drawing database

  • Performs routine analysis to check accuracy of data

Qualifications

**Job Title:** CAD Operator
**Location:** Groton, Connecticut
**Pay Range:** $56000 - $62400
**What's the Job?**
+ Develop 3D CAD solid models and detailed 2D drawings to support manufacturing and product development.
+ Work closely with engineering, project managers, and production staff to translate concepts into practical designs.
+ Maintain and update bill of materials and related product data sheets for accuracy and consistency.
+ Interface with vendors to resolve design and fabrication issues, ensuring project timelines are met.
+ Assist in creating graphical details for operational instructions, manuals, and technical data sheets.
**What's Needed?**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in CAD modeling and drafting, preferably with AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or DraftSight, with CSWP SolidWorks Professional Certification preferred.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and vendors.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet project deadlines efficiently.
